I for one am actually glad that Kent did English versions of their songs and wish they did more. It's how I found out about them first of all, but also I don't speak Swedish and I connect with songs much better when I can understand the lyrics and can sing along. The Swedish versions are gorgeous, no doubt, but I just don't connect with them like I do the English ones. Kent albums are extremely hard to find in the U.S. and I wish that wasn't the case.

Kent sounds "funny" when they translate their songs. This is one of the few exceptions. But to all those people that say they sound better in swedish: listen to Just Like Money. It was written for english and is one of the best songs they have ever done.

Agree! I think their songs sound weird in english. The Swedish just sounds so much more authentic. But this one is fantastic, no matter which language. The music is awesome :)

I'm an english speaker, and I think that Kent sounds much better in Swedish. First they sound a bit more natural, and second, Swedish is a wonderful-sounding language, and it's just wrong that a band that sounds so good using it would feel compelled to switch to anything else just because some marketing people told them too. Danish may sound butt fugly, but everyone should give Swedish a chance.

Oh yeah, I wont knock their english, and many swedish bands sound excellent in english. But their Swedish vocals always electrify me. Maybe the problem is just that English lacks that certain dimension :) It's a damned shame more people outside Scandinavia haven't picked up on this band.

@splitoperator I completely agree with you but kent just have few things in English. They didn't go to the top singing in Swedish and most of the people like them singing in English. I think they only have one album in English, which has its Swedish version. Kent is one of my favourite swedish bands.
