@AndallthatRush God is something in her voice and in Whitney's voice that transcends knowlege and dogma. It reaches us in a way that is greater than the sum of the composition and the lyrics and the tone and the dynamics. There are many great singers, but only a few have what it takes to reach us this way. The God that I feel has not been written about in historical or religious texts. I do think though that it has repeatedly been expressed in music, art, dance, biology, physics, etc.

@AndallthatRush I'm sorry that I don't have a better answer. I've rejected my Roman Catholic teachings over 40 years ago because it thouroughly goes against how I feel. I find more of God in the purring of my cat and the sheer purity of expression in the voice of some singers that I have ever experienced at Mass or anywhere in the Bible. That's just how I feel.
