@dividednation44 Yes, Hades! He is a greek god, yes, but he's the villain in Hercules. He is fantastic. And maybe there's no comparable female villain, but there are comparable villains to her when it comes to singing! Frollo, for one. He has Hellfire, which is absolutely fantastic. And Jafar has some nice songs too. I don't think mother Gothel is that great, really. She does have a nice song, but in my opinion, not better than most Disney villains. Tangled is a wonderful movie.. :)

Scar is popular because he was in a movie that made tons of money and is more recent than the sleeping beauty. In reality, Scar is a weak villain who relied in trickery to get what he wanted and in one on one combat vs his brother he would have been destroyed. Malefient was a whole new level of evil.. they needed 3 magical farries, a prince and a sword of truth (dozed in magic) to beat her and only because she got cocky... she is the best by far.

Prince John and Sir Hiss are the worst Disney villains - Maleficent...the scariest - in fact, Scar and Jafar are so identical-looking. McLeach from "The Rescuers Down Under" is missing - so is Narrisa from "Enchanted" - and both Brom Bones and the Headless Horseman from "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow".

He was realistic after all. He wasn't as strong as Mufasa, so he became king through manipulation and plotting. And he was severely weakened after his fight with Simba, so he didn't stand a chance against the hyenas. Maleficent just did stuff because she was evil, while Scar had an actual motive for his actions.

As much as I loved the Disney villains when I was growing up, I do wish they'd try something new with them.

Like a villain who redeems themselves or reconciles with the main hero/heroine of the film. Someone who didn't have to end up dead or banished or whatever at the end.

But no. We can't have anything outside of the usual black and white views of good and evil for kids these days.

When i see those villains, i find it controversial whether or not Disney is "the happiest place on earth". i mean, look at those guys. 1. this list should consist of only animated villains; not live action or Pixar.

2. Lady Tremaine was a sociopath but her evil should not earn her a #9 spot. she should be in the 20's somewhere.

I guess that to be on a list like this you have to have the appearance of evil.
