    American English is still the only language that puts tens before ones and months before singular dates.

  • I think we did place values in 4th grade. I don't remember it being as easy to remember it when I learned it, and the teacher-Mrs. Gilt-took about 20 minutes to explain it.

    Of course, class clowns made it harder to teach. She'd have to stop and tell them to pay attention and usually sent Scott K. to the principal's office on a near daily basis.
