A few years ago the ranger let me in the lake with my inflateble raft and do some paddling around. The place is awesome when it snows and I got caught in some good blizzards up there! hope it reopens soon! Grizzlies use to be numerous around the area
@enchilada01 I was in Asuza 2 moths ago and the area was still close. How did you get to go in? the lake's been close for several years now. Once again, how were you able to go in?
We're heading up there this Saturday to do trail work. There are over 100 trees that need to be removed from a trail, and hundreds of other trees across other trails in the area.
Yes it is. Check out wikipideas article rgarding this lake. Back in the 80's it was open to the public (although you could not swim in it do to critters). Back then it was already something of shit hole but you could fish in it.
I should advertize your video on the Crystal Lake web site and the discussion forums. }:-} Over on the right hand side of the stairs is where I was attacked by a male deer buck during rutting season. Notice how the railing on the stairs is all fixed and the steps are all cleaned of debris? And the lake itself has had all the garbage dragged out, the underground PVC pipe fragments carted off. The whole area was cleaned up by volunteers. There are still pumps burried up there, though.
I was just there today, it was hot. I was temped to go swimming but there were signs saying not to :/

My understanding is that this is a natural lake...is this true? does it have man-made infrastructure.
I hope they preserve this lake, might get destroyed if it opens to the public.
great job gorinyan...
