I really like the dad character, being put in such familiar situation but still fresh. Looks like he wasnt really over-protecting his doll or being racist. He was just trying to be cool, or to feel young. But unlucky the children expected him to act the way a dad does. Things get awkward and the porn attack is like his final effort to draw attention. Hes the main juvenile in the short. Cool dad anyway ^.^

I liked the acting. I could not make out whether they were trying to say the dad was a racist, over protecting father or what? With films, it seems it's always the white girl, black boy, white dad not happy. Would be good to see it from the black families prospective, I remember my friends mum saying, why does he keep on dating these white girls, there nothing but trouble, lol.

I think the dad put the magazine there when he pretended to go to the bathroom because he wanted to keep his daughter from dating anymore, keep her as a child. It is hard for him to let go. When he can't find anything actually wrong with her boyfriend, he tries to break them up.

It is strongly suggested the father planted it on him. They left him in the under the impression that he got away with it since they realise what a man-child he is and that his uneducated (some what racist)opinion is inconsequential anyways.

As others have already said, the dad planted it on him, so he could make him look like some kind of "pervert", and make the daughter not want him anymore. The problem I have with this is, it's *2009*! High school girls know that boys/men look at porn, so she would be neither surprised, nor dissuaded from dating him. In fact in you want a surprise, look up what % of people that watch porn on the 'net these days are women and you will be shocked! I know I was!
