  • wow,this is so fast!!!!!

How am I going to play this next year SYF????

my saxophone part first bar is damn fast >.<

  • Is that ms Chan?

  • yea, tt's ms chan. =]

  • wow..

  • We played this my 9th grade year in high school. I'm a sophmore in college now so that was ages ago lol I love this piece man. It should be faster in some places and slower in others but overall, it doesn't matter cause I just love it either way lol

  • da clarinet score dropped.....

  • we're moving with e music....

  • nice one.

but i can't hear flutes in Walzer...

BTW, give me one clarinet will ya?

    Haha

  • yah, it's kinda soft

  • one thing i noticed was no dynamic contrast at all and some parts too slow but otherwise pretty good.

  • haha!! OPWO and VHS played this song at SYF 2005 and OPWO From COP become GWH HAHA!!!!

  • too slow.

    faster, nicer, better.

  • yep i agree! it shld b arnd 2x faster for the beginning? or mayb 1.5x .. in any words, faster sounds nicer .. my conductor said "shes a happy widow, goes round the city running around freely ^^" tht might help u get the feeling of the song u r playing i hope.

  • nice and good pieces, our school was using this song for the competitions.HOPE FOR WINNING THE GRAND PRIZE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(GOLD)1st Place!!!

  • Nice playing :D

could have more dynamic changes and faster though.

  • standard singaporean band with clars in the front! =D good job guys. im from tpjc band btw. and thats ALOT of clarinets!

  • Merry Widow + Singaporean Band= Awesomness

    :D But i dont think we're the best :(

  • Nice... but abit too slow liaoz especially the beginning part and into the 3|4 part... but still nice

  • bring back the hk days!

  • and thats not the usual positioning..theres no usual positioning. positions can be changed to suit the venue..

  • err, not normally, no. If you suddenly change everything, all the communication is scuppered. You perform in the same set up that you rehearse. You're telling me if the venue suited it you'd have the percussion right in front drowning everything else out and the flutes and oboes at the back behind the brass??

  • what band is this? which JC?

  • Pionner JC

  • Cool video! But this song would sound nicer if they played it more faster.

  • Why aren't the flutes sitting in the same position as the first violins would in an orchestra? That's how they've been positioned in all the wind bands I've played in. Is that the normal 'layout' for bands in Hong Kong? (I'm from England by the way). It's really good though, I've never heard the Merry Widow arranged like that for wind band before, but it works pretty well. How old are the people playing?

  • wow u guys played well.
