This is the exact video that played on the Division Bell Tour. I saw it in Oakland, April 22, 1994. The Tour was promoted and published by the Canadian Group which is why you won't see it on any other Television broadcast.

It is truly a rare find. Thank you for sharing it!

AhHAAA! - I have been looking for this video for years. This is the original Learning to Fly video that was banned the day after it first aired. The sensors (that don't exist) felt that this version of the video encouraged children to "Learn to Fly" and they feared that children would be jumping off cliffs like the boy in the video. Thank you so much for posting it! So many people didn't believe me when I told them about the original version... Finally I have my proof!!

And Pink Floyd's co-producer, Bob Ezrin also co-wrote this song. He co-produced "The Wall," "Momentary Lapse Of Reason" and "The Division Bell." Bob Ezrin had a big part in Pink Floyd's career. Look him up on Wikipedia and see what I mean.

i taped it off MTV too in 1994.... i just watched it ;-) But yah, you're right... they didn't play it very often. I think it was the only time i even saw that video played, & the only reason i recorded it was cuz i had heard of the band & figured I needed to start learning their songs. I don't think a lot of people really know this song exists, other than the people posting in here of course.

I was a paratrooper in the US Army's 82nd Airborne. EVERY jump I made into the night I had this song in mind. The song gave me courage and soothed my nerves allowing me to get out the door. I have always been petrified of heights...I will drop to my knees just looking down from some place high...but this song helped me conquer my fears.

@lazy12388 Ha ha! When you get to the aircraft's door, you are supposed to jump out in order to get your body away from the plane. But my knees would be so weak from fear I could mostly only manage a half-jump/drop. Not the best exiting technique, but it got me out the door and on the ground. I entered the Army at 21 with a head full of black hair...at the end of 4 1/2 years of service and jumping I left the Army with about 20% of my black hair gone grey (or white).

I remember seeing this when I was like 8 or 9 years old. It was the first song I really fell in love with and started my life long love affair with Pink Floyd. I finally got to see them when I was 16 during the Pulse tour. It was one of the best days of my life. Completely blown away.
