Alice In Chains was/is more metal oriented yes, but they are still grunge. Grunge being a mix of Punk, Metal and New Wave doesn't make them less grunge, they are just a more metal oriented grunge band than others and Mudhoney being more punk oriented ect.
Why do people always put AIC up there as Grunge? They sound WAY more metal than grunge. That's the thing i don't understand. Everytime i listen to one of there songs i hear something that came more out of heavy metal than it did from the grunge movement. Especially with the depressing lyrics and heavy ass guitar sounds as well as acoustic. Yup it's total metal.
First of all grunge/punk rock or whatever you wanna call it isnt dead dude. The Melvins and a shit load of other bands still tour and who gives a crap about gay ass nickelback.
Yea i have always interested in rock like this because me and my sister grew up with it (Born 1997) but she soon grew out of rock and came to pop and rap, but me and my dad are still rocking and i saw smashing pumpkins on MTV2 Legit and i wanted to get to my rock obsession roots so i watched this video

70's rocked,80's sucked! 90's were Awesome! 2000's suck as well (vocader Hip-Hop, Jamacian sounding R&B and all the rock bands sound the same (Hinder/Saving Abel/Buck Cherry)See a pattern?Heres hoping the next decade (2010) dares to sound different!
holy shit, my dad new of a local band in milwaukee in the 70s who i think were the first who used feedback, there called couch flambow (im not good at spelling)
