  • @G35AndTGOD i would consider it, what year, how many miles, options, etc. the only thing is that you would need about $15k-17k cash I would think since most 03-05 g35's go for about $13-15k. Message me if you're interested. I will see if there's something we can work out :)

  • That's more of a technical question I am unfamiliar with, I feel like it happens more with v8's and larger v6's though. It probably has something to do with the displacement but I am unsure as I said.

  • Hp is simply torque * rpms/5252. Cars that pass peak torque before 5252 can typically get higher peak torque than peak hp.

  • Lol, actually with the tune I had I was able to get up to 25mpg on the highway. Sometimes when I was on the road and slammed the gas I could watch the gas gauge go down lol. That was with my 1600cc injectors, now that I have my 800cc injectors we will see as they are tuning it this week and say it's running great.

  • i just installed my rear mounted turbo a week ago im loving it!! with no tune runing really rich right now lol, i have pleunum, pulleys, headers, test pipes, custom ypipe, midpipe. and i feel like its more then enough on the street i cant image with 650 whp lol

  • That's amazing and great to hear! I was actually looking to do a rear-mounted turbo first off. I really wanted to do it but there wasn't enough stuff out there at the time, which was in 2005. Either way I'd love to follow up with you and check out how your car does. Where are you located?

  • well as it turned out rear mounted turbos dont work all that well. its a very interesting idea but really unless you dont have the space not worth it. i blew my engine and tranny and now i put the turbo in the front. its much more responsive and more powerful. and i like the turbo in the front better. there are oil issues with the turbo if the turbo is at the back and its not that its laggy but rpms build substantially slower.

    that rear mounted turbo did not go well all. i transferred the turbo front mount, due to garbage tuners and shops im on my 3rd engine no and NA, full bolton with stand alone ecu making a crappy 270whp/260wtq on a dyno dynamics.

    i did make 414 whp and 435wtq front mount, 12.34s 112.1mph on borrowed tires at the track. those days are long gone lol...

  • if you mean engine internals (not engine swap) about 400-420whp pushing the safe limit without internals but with lots of bolt on . with internals in the mid 500whp with regular kits like the greddy tt, turbonetics, sts, votech, hks, aps tuner kit, with the aps extreme kit in the 600whp+. if you add stroke and and big change in engine mapping about 600whp with any kit and about 700whp with aps extreme kit.

  • Have you had any problems? Thinking about turbo'ing my G later on down the road but usually turbo's lead to fixing your car just about every week.

  • When I turboed my car I had less problems than when I was running NA! When I built the motor I started to have thousands of problems but only because it was a new setup and had some inbred ass holes build it improperly which has led to many of my problems. These issues are being worked out as we speak!

  • i have a carbonetics triple disc clutch and so far no modifications to the tranny or drivetrain. once i boost up my power i'll have to switch out the axles to a higher level but other than that i'm hoping that the transmission will stay strong so i don't have to spend more money haha

  • I have the ATS triple carbon clutch which is made by Carbonetics or ATS or however that stuff works.

  • I accidentally clicked spam on ur post h23sdominate and I don't know how to undo that. The boost is low but I'm putting out 630whp and 650tq, it takes most people 5-10lbs more of boost to run those #s! 700-800whp is a hard thing for the g/z cuz u need to start changing stuff like piping and intercooler, etc. It is my daily driver also, I actually hardly ever drive with it on 12lbs, usually do 10lbs which is about 510/530

  • compression ratio is 8.5:1 and I never said I did the build. You need some pretty crazy equipment to do any sleeving or stroking of the VQ35de and I don't have a CNC machine laying around my house...but good luck on your build man, keep me posted on the progress!

  • L series is what I'm going to put in my 67 Camaro! Beautifully designed series of motors and since I grew up on corvettes they're 2nd hand nature to me :) the max boost I can throw at my VQ motor is probably a lil over 30psi, pending the plenum holds and fuel system delivers correctly. But the motor is designed to withstand 1300whp. It's an incredible setup but am needing new injectors since my goal of 1000 whp is too much money and my 1600cc injectors are dumping too much fuel in

    Good to know that 8.5 is good to 1300. I'll probably be able to get away with about 9.5:1 for my ~600whp goal then. Any more in a car weighing 2300lbs would be insane.

  • Should've figured you were an import man, haha! That compression should hold up fine, I'd check on forums and what not to figure out if that kind of power would work but I'd think you'd be alright. Good luck and I'd like to know when it's complete :)

  • yeah they are actually 19's, the weight difference between the 18's and 19's has got to be a couple pounds per wheel and maybe one or two per tire, not sure tho

  • you'd put down well over 700hp if you took out the greddy tt kit and built one. i did, using 2 hks gt3037 and put down high 900's on high boost and c16. nice work tho

  • Yes that's true but I ran 630whp/650tq at just 12.5 lbs of boost, the GReddy TD-05s r good up to 21 lbs of boost...I think I'm good man haha but congrats on the great numbers, u have pics of ur car? I'd love to see your setup!!!

  • Sweet car man. I have a 06 g35 6 speed. I have strup headers, berk test pipes and greddy tic 70mm dual exhaust. Im getting the vortech s/c. if i put forged rods and pistons, hks headgasket and arp head+main stud kit. Will i put out 450whp? at 8lbs cause im paranoid about high boost.

  • you should do fine around that boost, i'm selling an extra motor, heads, and block if you want anything for a spare either in case or to remove any downtime your car may have

  • the car has been out of commission for so long, haha. i have needed a new clutch cuz the carbonetics triple carbon clutch is broken and is slipping and i bought a classic car to have for a while and right when i did that a company came out with a better clutch and i bought a house so i have no money haha, i'm saving up to get the clutch tho right now

  • So with forged internals and sleeving, the most a G can take is about 12-15lbs. of boost? I don't know much about the G, but I know 12.5 isn't a whole lotta boost. But that's coming from an Evo owner running 20 lbs from the factory and 25lbs. tops on OEM internals. School me. Not sure if this G is yours or not but either way, it's pretty awesome. Respect.   • the motor can handle about 30 lbs which is a lot for the G, i think the highest level i've seen is about 20 something, my turbos max out at 21 lbs or so, i have to upgrade my intercooler, wastegates, piping, axles, and a bunch of other things (probably about another $5k) just to SAFELY make over 700whp, it kinda sux but i'm getting a new clutch (the clutch is my only problem right now) so i'll be testing out the waters on my motor

    Just asking cause i'm going to purchase a new car. I have two cars in mind to get, The EVO 8 which i know for a fact i can get alot out of . The other one is the g35 which i haven't seen too many "high performance" g35's out. I know there's a setup for the G35 for about 8,000. Anway right now i'm kinda leaning towards the EVO 8.

  • Hmmm, Well lets start with a few simple questions that will easily prove you are lying. What kit are you running? What brand pistons? Rings? Who made your custom stage 3 or 4 axles? I know A LOT more about the VQ powerplant than you could imagine. Oh, heres a great question...there are only a handful of shops in the US that have the ability to extract that much power on the G...I know of all of them.

  • it's actually the deliverance of the fuel system, lol seriously that thing is the biggest problem in the world! the timing and just overall delivery is not right. so when you press the gas it jumps back and forth, the most annoying thing ever by the way

  • Thats what proper tuning is for.....ive seen several twin turbo g's with built motors that shift smoooooooth, except obviousy ur left calf is going to start growing ginormously it feels like.

  • G35s are not AMERICAN made. They are made differently for America though. Our version of the "G35" are more luxury than the ones made in JAPAN.

  • Dude its the same car as a 350z.its almost identical the only difference is the g35 is notchback and the 350z is hatchback...same motor...same frame...same make.Infact the g35 is a 350GT Skyline in Japan.
