OneTill- I agree that the scene seems hack. But the director is on a clock. In a limited time the viewer has to learn who the character is, where he's from,and he came to be the way he is now. In 1:38 you know. In that respect Washington sold the scene well and developed the plot. R Deniro as Capone in the scene where he pulls out a Louisville slugger is the same as this.

Tough for the Director to be creative in a scene that is fundamental to the

obviously, tango is trying to fuck frank. he receives drugs from him, but do not consider it necessary to pay for it. so frank is confronting him in this scene.

during the eating-breakfast scene, which you have already mentioned, frank was giving in. he accepted tango´s 20% request to avoid any temporary trouble. now tango thinks, he can do whatever he wants with frank.
