Katherine Howard, I would say was lust probably, and Catherine Parr was a good companion and frined who looked after him and survived him. She maintained a good family life and was good for him. He probably appreciated that and was content with her until he died. He was beyond sex and lust by then. She was more of a carer. She was educated and could hold her own in conversation with him and she was respectable and well connected.

He truly loved Katherine for many years but she was older than him and when she could not give him a son it  was abig issue for him. Anne, he probably thought he loved at first but went off her fast when she could not give him a son and realised it was lust. Jane gave him no trouble and a son. She was kind and submissive and he loved her while she lived. Anne of Cleves he never loved or desired but rated as a friend of sorts (he used to visit her and play cards with her after the divorce.)more

I think it was Jane who he loved the most. He is buried next to Jane (Anne was beheaded).  I think he grew tired of Anne since she had a daughter and a stillborn son and also her personality was a bit difficult to deal with.

Out of all of henry's wives I think that Henry only truly loved 2. The first 2 Katherine and Anne. and these are the 2 women that he did the worst by. Katherine I believe was a good woman and Henry respected her as the mother of his child and as a good companion and friend. But it was Anne who he was in love with. for a man to do what he did and wait so damn long just so he could be with her. You have to be truly in love with that person. especially since he was king and could have anyone.

Season 3's first episode Sunday night didn't disappoint, but I'm afraid they are going to rush this season and not let history unfold adequately. That being said, I really miss Maria Doyle Kennedy, the actress who played Henry's first wife and was mother of Lady Mary, and the irresistable Natalie Dormer, who played Queen Anne, Henry's second wife and mother to Lady Elizabeth. I think we'll miss Natalie's fierce performance and who stole every scene she was in.

I doubt Henry truly loved any of his wives. To him, they were all just a means of getting sons and heirs. Jane was his favorite because she A. Fit the standards for what was attractive in Tudor times (Blonde, Pale, Blue eyes) B. Was the least argumentative and disagreeable, and C. Gave Henry the son and heir he craved. If she had had a miscarriage, a stillborn, or a girl child, she probably would have wound up the same as Catherine or even Anne.

@Karenjade Henry is supposed to have loved all his wives, actually. Obviously at the end of most of his marriages they fell out of favor with him with the exception of Anne of Cleves who he never did love and Catherine Parr who outlived him. Certainly Anne Boelyn was a great passion of his...but he regarded Jane Seymour as his one true wife long all throughout his life, so she definitely was his one true love type deal. He's even buried beside her now.

I wish these college-educated reporters would do their homework. Henry VIII did not divorce Katherine of Aragon-he had the marriage annulled. There is a difference. Had he just divorced her-and Anne Boleyn-he could not declare his daughters Mary and Elizabeth illegitimate. An annulment means the marriage was never valid.
