AT thru-hike: Erwin - another day another mountain.

I was there April 4 2011. Was a beautiful day and we had lunch atop the bald while our socks dried. We could see bad weather coming in from the west and we hustled over to the nearby shelter. Shortly thereafter, a gigantic storm blew in and it rained cats and dogs and was so windy we thought trees might come down. Went to bed at dark and when I awoke at 1 am, the rain had turned to snow. By morning we had a couple of inches! Great videos ya got.

It can be a challenge to hike long-distances with a dog (it's like hiking with a kid). But you're right, I lucked out with this particular pooch.

ahh bald mt tried going up there one day but a front wheel drive car only can go so far before you have to get out and start hiking
