I'm sick of people praising about their country's power. You guys are like stupid elementary school kids screamin' at each other. As long as there is a force that can protect its nation, then that's good enough for me.
I was helping Russian soliders to to get food in East Germany. However, I have served 4 years in the Geman Navy as Electronic Warfare Operator. Cheers from Canada OMT Pannwitz
@manishmehrot121 Chinese navy is the one to be focusing on. It's growing so fucking fast, man. Their ships have stealth at least to some degree, and rapid modernization has progressed for years now. They have announced their intentions for domestic production of aircraft carriers, and have said that they'll be building 6 of them. Also, their weapon researches should not be forgotten: particle weapons, kinetic energy weapons, and laser weapons are being researched. Chinese military MATTERS.
the US NAVY is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY BIGGER AND BETTER AND STRONGER!!!!!! AND WAY MORE PERSONEL!!!!
or youll see a multi-polar world with the U.S. and Europe on one side and Russia and china on the other. but there are still many regional powers that shouldnt be dismissed. japan today has the worlds 3rd largest navy and its equipped with the latest and greatest but they have no carriers.
I am not sure that it is possible to see it in full anywhere, unless it reruns on History Channel anytime soon. I would, however, go to the Rutube and search for ВМФ РФ or The Russian Navy there;-))
I guess I understand the way of US people thinking. USA was young, weak nations until WW2. Their influence in the world was moderate. Now USA is a super power. But they don't understand the history repeats. Now, their turn to go down. I think it will take 40-50 years. In 50 years they will reach the bottom and all things will be repeated again.
Hmm, the British impire is gone, The Ottoman, Napoleon, the list goes on and on. All great countries and powers sooner or later go down. However I don't think the USA will go down but more Likely it will be over taken by China in a few decades. Russia will always be top dog when it comes to Nukes but I doubt she will ever be as powerful as the former USSR.
Britain is a great power? You got to be kidding me. Your navy has become a complete joke. It has been destroyed and reduced in size over the past 50 years. You lost all your colonies and influence. Britain is done and will be taken over by Muslims by 2100.
@Spetznaz24 oh the brit navy is still formatible and able to project to a extent . their submarine force is top rated also.. about the muslims your probably right its more like europe by 2100.. i been on several trips around europe and they dont see it comming
@Spetznaz24 thats 90 years. and alot can happen in 90 years. britain is soon building aircraft carriers and more boats. number isnt everything. their well trained troops are better than numbers
The Russians are always a step ahead in concept and design. The idea of having a ship with a wide array of missiles is only now being accepted by western countries. The US new Zumwalt class destroyer will carry a smaller crew but a lot of different missile systems. These Russian battlecruisers were ahead of their time. Russia's navy unlike the US isn't designed to invade and occupy other countries instead it is designed to defend and deliver devastating firepower without risking ground forces
The Russian Navy is currently on the verge of 'irreversible collapse', according to a recent analysis published by the authoritative Moscow-based weekly - the Independent Military Review
True, such an opinion exists, especially against the background of another recent disaster with Bulova BM. Truth, however, is slightly more complex and the first question which should arise is what Russian Navy?? Everything what Russia calls today its Navy is in essence the remains of the Soviet Navy.
The report, entitled 'BMF RF [Naval Military Fleet of the Russian Federation] on Foreign Warships', says the main cause for the 'collapse' is the state of the Russian shipbuilding industry, which is "incapable of producing warships in either the quantity or at the level of quality that their navy customer requires" for the future.
Again, true to some degree. The fundamental issue, however, resides not with the industry (which is in a rough shape) but with political elites in Moscow, more precisely with incompetence of those elites.
I hate to generalize but I think that many Americans are skeptical for foreign military equipment, training and strategies. But the Russian navy is worth the respect. After centuries of wars and conflicts, it still continues its proud service and even in the worst of things that have happened the Russian navy managed to evolve and outcome any obstacle, For the past few years the Russian navy managed to rebuild some of its former glory. I think it is worth the admiration from all of us.
Well, for decades North American public has been denied objective data on Soviet Navy, being enslaved to points of view of populist incompetents like Tom Clancy and other Hollywood garbage. This History Channel presentation is a step in the right direction.
Russian missile cruiser "Peter the Great" stopped three pirate ships off the coast of Somalia, and detained 10 pirates, according to a statement released by Russian Navy headquarters in Moscow.

no the USA will never hit the bottom, no Great Power in history has ever hit the bottom, they still stay a world power
look at the UK fro, 1800s - 1939 was the most powerful nation on earth
in 1945-1957 UK was still a superpower
now 60 years later the UK is still a major Great World power and will still be feard by our enemys for many many more years
yes the usa might not be the most powerful in 50 years but it will still be one of the top few world powers
