I was 2 miles from the Peter The Great. I was onboard an unnamed US Destroyer and it was pretty intense. This ship is a fucking beast.

@manishmehrot121 Chinese navy is the one to be focusing on. It's growing so fucking fast, man. Their ships have stealth at least to some degree, and rapid modernization has progressed for years now. They have announced their intentions for domestic production of aircraft carriers, and have said that they'll be building 6 of them. Also, their weapon researches should not be forgotten: particle weapons, kinetic energy weapons, and laser weapons are being researched. Chinese military MATTERS.

or youll see a multi-polar world with the U.S. and Europe on one side and Russia and china on the other. but there are still many regional powers that shouldnt be dismissed. japan today has the worlds 3rd largest navy and its equipped with the latest and greatest but they have no carriers.

I guess I understand the way of US people thinking. USA was young, weak nations until WW2. Their influence in the world was moderate. Now USA is a super power. But they don't understand the history repeats. Now, their turn to go down. I think it will take 40-50 years. In 50 years they will reach the bottom and all things will be repeated again.

look at the UK fro, 1800s - 1939 was the most powerful nation on earth

in 1945-1957 UK was still a superpower

now 60 years later the UK is still a major Great World power and will still be feard by our enemys for many many more years

yes the usa might not be the most powerful in 50 years but it will still be one of the top few world powers

Hmm, the British impire is gone, The Ottoman, Napoleon, the list goes on and on. All great countries and powers sooner or later go down. However I don't think the USA will go down but more Likely it will be over taken by China in a few decades. Russia will always be top dog when it comes to Nukes but I doubt she will ever be as powerful as the former USSR.

The Russians are always a step ahead in concept and design. The idea of having a ship with a wide array of missiles is only now being accepted by western countries. The US new Zumwalt class destroyer will carry a smaller crew but a lot of different missile systems. These Russian battlecruisers were ahead of their time. Russia's navy unlike the US isn't designed to invade and occupy other countries instead it is designed to defend and deliver devastating firepower without risking ground forces

I hate to generalize but I think that many Americans are skeptical for foreign military equipment, training and strategies. But the Russian navy is worth the respect. After centuries of wars and conflicts, it still continues its proud service and even in the worst of things that have happened the Russian navy managed to evolve and outcome any obstacle, For the past few years the Russian navy managed to rebuild some of its former glory. I think it is worth the admiration from all of us.
