I drove through Follansbee not too long ago. My great grandfather was shot and killed on main st. in 1930 at a place called Blakely's barber shop. He ran a speakeasy in the rear of the shop and bootlegged whiskey all through Brooke county. I was trying to find out where on Main st. the shop was located and could not figure it out due to little time to search. Is a very nice town though, and I hope to make it back someday to do a bit more research, my family lived in this area for over 160 years.
