JUSTIN BIEBER WROTE THIS SONG CALIFORNYA DREAMUN, LISTEN TO THE WAY HE SINGS IT ALL GANGSTA STYLE, YO YO NOT LIKE THIS PANSY ASS TRIBUTE BAND YO YO YO
Great tribute. Is michelle phillips still alive. I know the other three are deceased. Denny doherty died in 2007, of a second abdominal aneurism. John Phillips died in 2003.
True that we didn't realize what great music and variety was exploding in the 60s. Back then I felt this was "old" music by adults (as it turned out John especially was). Now I can appreciate the voices and production of material like 12:30 and Creeque Alley. The untimely death of Cass and revelations about John only make me better appreciate the brief era in which these were created. Thanx!
What kind of Sadistic and perverse becomes the name of the band when they come to light abuses of John on her daughter and make party with celebrities to rape her daughter. It was all a mask. Wake up.
@kenavo2103 You are most welcome. I'm very glad you enjoyed it. As I told pieromr1, I'm putting up a tribute to Karen Carpenter. I hope you'll check it out also.
@purselady2 all the rest...you did ask what happened to all the rest right? well.....they died. Michelle is all that is left. The last Mama. She may have been the prettiest but she sure was not the most talented of the group. She sang very well but she could not hold a candle to the great Cass Elliot and she never wrote anything.
I grew up in the 60s but if only I could have realized how great it was at the time. I took it all for granted. The music, the culture, the freedom, all of it. Sure we had bad stuff then too as all ages do but we still loved it. It started with Elvis and ended with the Beatles. Then I remembered New Years eve 1969 as the 60's were ticking away how I was going to miss it. I was right. I miss the 1960's and I would gladly give up my cable, computer, and cell phone to have it all back.
dear sir: you are absolutely right. i am 59 and attended woodstock north of n.y. and sixties and seventies were the best time of my life.i thank god for that.
yes, i am 50 years old, the best time was sixties and seventies, I don t remember very much of the sixties, but i have heard the music of the beatles, the beach boys, the mamas and the papas, and many others, it was the "gold times", I also thank to god for that. greetings from Costa Rica, Central America.
I only wish to have been in the revolutionary 60's. The simply breath taking music, clothes, hair do's,politics and amazing achievements by the world it self. The 60's.....So amazing....
@agyness4eva It was quite a time--I lived it all, & somehow, am still here to write about it now. Spring of '66, these 4 landed on the american music scene--looking so different, sounding so good. What a time it was, indeed. Wolfsky9, 64 y/o
SUPERB! I was growing up in the 60's and stuff like this was great but there was so much good stuff around, at the time no one realized just how lucky they were
@freddyscot I agree. I lived in the States from 1966 to 1972, and then until 1974 in US military bases in Germany. At that time (and in 1966 I was already 20 years old) I did not realize all the abundance of good things we had around. Somehow I felt the Vietnam War pretty close, as I still think the US and the rest of the world would be a much better place to live if that war had never taken place, or, at leat had not lasted so long. The world was never more the same.
Well done tribute! And using there signature song, super cool choice. I remember buying their first album when I was in 7th grade. Still have it! Great video! Thanks!
Que buena agrupasion neta no x que uno no aya vivido en esa epoka kiere desir que no le guste esa clase d musika deveras que estan excelentes sus canciones ya no es como ahora que ya cuelkiera diske canta.....
A Great Tribute to ever inspiring coming of age band
I am 21 and wish that I could have been born in August of 1955 so I could grow up in the sixties and rasie hell in the seventies. You forty to fifty year olds do not know how good you had it growing. Money was scarce but man the music rocked!!! That is probebly what got you through the tough, not like todays bump a rump music. 21 years old and all I listen to is late sixites to late eighties music ROCK ON!
Good man - it's nice to hear from kids who have good taste! This music is immortal. And I hate to disillusion you, but money was not scare in the 60's! How else could we afford all those guitars and all that dope?!?
Not exactly, but chickabot posted a documentary about the Mamas and Papas and it's on part of that. If you can't find it, let me know and I will see what I can do.
Hello 3ratholes i have 2 dvd documentarys on them, Californa Dreamin and Straight Shooter. Both are excellant and well worth watching. Just finished reading Michelles book, also called California Dreamin, in which she admits to an affair with Denny. And as swimtoshore89 says "I Saw Her Again" was about the affair. Hope this helps you.
Hi! I picked up Michelles book this weekend and put it at the top of my closet (waiting til this holiday weekend to read it!)hope its worth the wait!!

From another video that I watched, it's true. The song they did called "I Saw Her Again" had to do with that affair.
