I like it how people compare this to gettysburg. yes it is a prequil, but it is two very different stories, gettysburg (though it is one of my favs as well as this one) is just a war movie, this film clearly depicts the horrors of the civil war. That's why I love it so much.

I think Martain Shenn did a better job in Gettysburg than Robert Duvall. Everytime they showed Sheen he was doig sonething. When they showed Duvall he's got a bored look on his face.

@demeandr121 I concur. And I really hate to concur with that since I was convinced Duvall would kick Sheen's sorry ass hahaha. But Sheen did the better job in my opinion.

Same here, Martin Sheen sucked as Lee in Gburg. It was terrible, Duvall was awesome!

I totally agree. Duvall played Lee so well because that's the way Lee really was.

@emilysusan I disagree to be honest, Lee, to m understanding was a deeply emotional man who simply demonstrated incredibe self-control. Duvall was to robotic, I felt that Sheen better protrayed Lee as a human being. That being said DUvall's portaryal was still very good.
