  • LOVE THIS SONG AND THIS AMP? The Neil Distortion thing've convinced me, I suppose. Should I buy it? I'd have to sell my AD 15VT... I like rock-blues mix up the most, some classic rock, rather than metal, except from Iron Maiden etc.

  • @borek15 I actually sold my AD30VT and bought this instead, very glad i did. The only problem is there's no reverb but a pedal will fix that. When paired with an OCD or something similar, you can get some pretty heavy tones.

  • you have a really percussive attack to guitar ..i would guess that you also plays drums well ?

Really great demo ...enjoyed it ..and your playing is very cool !

  • you would be a good live player the way you get into it

  • @BIRDINTHEHOUZE : I've been a live player for 25 years ;-)

  • @realdocloco thats so wicked

  • Amazing

  • like your playing and sound!

  • Your dems are excellent. Cheers.

  • Do you know what these sound like with humbuckers? It seems you have P90's in your SG, that right? Thanks for any help!

  • @MrPeteEa : I think the AC4 sounds a bit muddy with humbuckers, at least with the the volume past half

  • @MrPeteEa I think it sounds good with humbuckers, I play it with a Gibson SG standard. Now I have this Vox Big Ben overdrive tube pedal too, it sounds great with this amp.

  • @GitarenEnBananen I also play a SG Standard and a Paul through a AC4 and think it sounds amazing. Not muddy at all...and I usually have the volume up past 4 o'clock with the tone all the way on the 4 watt setting. However, my single coil guitars do not distort enough even when you really overdrive the amp for hard rockin blues. I prefer humbuckers with this amp. Sounds just awesome!

  • @fatstrat6969 have you tried any overdrive pedals and single coils with it?

  • @cbappa2 Yes and that helps big time! A digitech 'screamin blues" distortion pedal and a Strat is a great combo!

  • @cbappa2 Yes. Recently actually. I used a Boss Overdrive. It made a major difference with my Strat. I also have a Smokin Blues Distortion Pedal that is pretty good also for getting more distortion out of single coils. Gibson P-90's sound incredible through a AC4. Just the Fender American single coils need a boost.

  • which guitar sounds best through the vox ac15h1tv? sg?

  • @vgw1971 : most P90 guitars, and most singlecoil pickups in general

  • @vgw1971 : no, I didn't changed anything - I only do it when I feel it is needed, and it was not the case here

  • Great playing man, you really gave a great cross section as far as the capabilities of both amp and guitar. Out of curiosity how much do these guitars go for?

  • my son is waiting on a new Gibson LP junior to go with his Ac4 10", should be a good pairing I think, could be a noisy Christmas, great video.

  • sooooooooo gooooooood, dude

  • WOW !! GREAT PLAYING love THAT SOUND !!

  • @metalrocker68 : if so, wrong way - oops

  • @realdocloco hi did you change out the el84 yet? make a difference?

  • They just sound so farty, from the TV 10", the TV 8", to the head and cab wound up returning mine and keeping my modded Valve Jr. head

  • Nice little amp but, I gotta get me an SG Jr!

  • Where did you buy that guitar strap?

  • cool playing but it is to mainstream!

  • @MrHaakon386 too mainstream? What like Britney?

  • @philthfrog like anny other guitarist in the world

  • what is this little marshal!?

  • @itayash : in the back? It's a 2061X handwired

  • excuse the dumb question but would a les paul jnr sound similar to the SG Jnr? Both having the single P90 was my thinking

  • @timj41 : not exactly the same, but pretty close. The LP jr has a bit more sustain and is a little bit more bassy, the SG jr is brighter and IMHO a bit wildier. Both are great rock guitars :-)

  • I gotta say, to my ears, it is a fairly muddy sound with the humbucker there. It doesn't open up very much.

  • that guitar looks NOS!

  • is it worth geting?

  • Great sound,excellent playing,love your style,fabulous!

  • The only bad thing I can say about this video is that your shirt is too big. great sound and playing

  • i just got it yesterday better than any Valve biggies there in the shop ;P 5 Stars!!

  • Enjoyed it. I bought the same amp about a month ago, still experimenting!

  • Sounds great! Wouldn't work for me...WAIT! Can you use distortion pedals with this?

  • I'm trying to decide between this and a larger (but less sweet sounding) Vox VT 30 or 50.

Do you think you could take the little AC4TV out gigging if you mic'd it up?

I notice you have two mics going, is that just preference?

  • you could mike it, or a big cab might help too. i have a vt50, and they aren't all that great. i just made the swap to tubes and i'm glad i did. :D

  • @ickythumper99 Thanks for the reply! I picked up the AC4TV, definitely glad I bought it over the VT50.

  • I don't really see the point in buying a not sweet sounding amp...

  • @777jordan It's all about budget. If you have $300 and you play hard rock with a drummer and bassist vocalist, you can't afford to go buy a 50w all tube head and a 4x12 half stack... So whatever you pick will be a tradeoff between what you need (volume and versatility to keep up with the drummer/bassist) and what you want (tube tone).

I did pick up the AC4TV actually, it does sound pretty nice!

  • lol love how u come closer to the camera at 5:22

  • i love this video. love it.

  • Sounds awesome. Thanks for posting a vid with p90's. I have the heritage ac15 head, and wanted something a little lower wattage. I just got a vos junior that's killer. I remember when no one wanted these sg's and they could be had for nothing. Not quite that way any longer. Killer sound.

  • which do you think would sound better with a jazzmaster, this or a vibro champ xd

  • dude you are sooo good. i love it!!

  • Keep on rockin in the free world!! Sweet haha!

  • man, that really sounds awesome . . . much better sound than some of the other AC4TV demos here on youtube.

  • I have this same model but Epiphone SG Jr and im getting intonation problems (not the tuning) and the height of the string can't get that low i wonder if this is a gibson trademark of having the string a little bit high... i maxed the limit and still feels high. Anyone can advice me?

  • @PieroMtMz Your neck relief needs to be adjusted too

  • It looks like the british amp musuem behind you!Good sounding amp!!

  • Nice vid. Had me reconsidering this little amp. Good job!

  • I LOVE this vid!

Sounds great and you can tell how much you love playing!

    Bravo!

  • ya i have the same exact one its sweet annyone know what the selling price of them are haha

  • nice amp und nice dancing in the end ;-)

  • beutiful !!!!.... guitar ! ;D

  • i love that guitar man!!!!!

  • So do I !

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, straight through.

  • You rock!

  • This tone is just amazing, but unfortunately for me its probably half the guitar. Last time i checked my room there were no '64 SGs lying around =(

  • would this work on humbuckers?

  • Yes it does, but past 6-7 on the volume, it become quite muddy, so you'll prefer an overdrive (or better, a boost) to get a tighter overdrive.

  • i meant with the neil young tone

  • @realdocloco if you switch out the stock 12ax7 with a 12at7 it will stay nice and sharp all the way up!

  • thats a cool little guitar. how much is that compares to a ful sized sg?

  • It IS full sized! Exactly the same size as a SG Std or Reissue 61. But only one P90 pickup (and here, one is enough) ;-)

  • De best is Vox AC4Tv . Line6 30, Marshall 30W ?

  • ac4tv for sure

  • cool classic tones..im after a new amp ive been looking at this a blackstar htd or the marshall class 5 all in the same price bracket..

  • would this amp do like a kinda punkrockish kinda four year strong type tone? and is it loud enouh to be hear with a drumer?

  • those are single coils right?

looks like the bottom one is a soapbar.

  • There's only one pickup, and it's a P90 "dogear" (the P90 is a single coil)

  • awesome

  • btw to ohwell soapbars are p90s also but dogears are slightly different

  • Thanks for the awesome demo! You're really rockin out, I was waiting for the windmill's and then the guitar and amp smash at the end!

  • is it cathode biased or fixed?

  • Hello there, sorry I meant the bridge pick up!! Do you have your tone on 10? Sounds a bit different to my casino. Then again I guess they are different guitars!! Hehe.

  • Hi, I have a Casino too and it's a treblier guitar indeed - The SG jr has a much fatter tone.

  • Hello there, I've just got one of these amps. Does your SG have a P-90? Also are you playing with guitar tone and volume on 10? The reason I ask is I'm playing my casino through it and it sounds very trebly through the neck pick up. Thanks.

  • Turn the tone down then..

  • These amps start out pretty harsh, but break in nicely after only a few weeks of playing.

  • dude i have the gibson 64 sg junior and its not a reissue

  • its another example vox amps sound the best when they are crancked all way up!

  • Easily one of the most enjoyable amp demos I've viewed in a long time. EXCELLENT song choices!! BTW - was that a SM-57 you were using to mic the amp? Also - did you use computer software or a stand-alone DAW for the recording? Everything sounds really good.

  • Thx! Yes, a SM57 for close-miking, but a T-bone RB500 too, for room ambiance. No software, but standalone Boss BR1600CD recorder. Cheers

  • thank you for the demo!

    regards from Germany

    Horst

  • Is a quarter watt still too loud for bedroom practice without getting on my neighbours nerves?

  • It's ok during the daytime but could put you into problems in the evening.

  • didnt GIbson cancel the SG junior? if they did that sucks because thats EXACTLY what im looking for in a guitar lol

  • Your Tom Petty rendition was sick!!

  • NEIL YOUNG!!!!!!!!!!!

  • love your dancing style :)

  • old school =)

  • Great Demo! How does this amp sound with your 07 melody maker? Do your think you could maybe post a demo of this amp with the MM? Thanks!

  • Salut !

  • OMG it will arrive in the Philippines on July can't wait!!!

  • was thinking of getting the stack version of this! Would anyone recomend it. I have A Valve tronics 50watt limited edition 2 12" speakers! which is better! I like to play pink floyd/the who stuff and i have pedals! what can anyone recomend??

    Thanks!

  • i'd recommend anything with as few settings as possible plus all tube,

i have the VT 15 watt and it does not respond so well to the disto pedal i use, it doesn't need to, it has everything inbuilt or most. I'm not that experienced in this field but from what i've tried you'd want to use the VT on its own (which it does good on)

but if you plan on making your own sound i would recommend Ac4, from what i've seen in this and other videos.

again i'm researching myself still so...

  • hey dude i nneed ur advice on chossing between the vox vt30 an the voc ac4tv.......which is better. asap reply would be best

  • I have the VT15, and it's pretty fun to mess around with. Endless possibilities of tones, from crunchy distorted sounds to smooth vintage tones. I've also played around with the AC4TV, and it's got that great Vox tone to it. If you like experimenting with different sounds, I would suggest the VT30, but if you want a real tube amp sound that you can't get with digital programming stuff, get the AC4. What you should really do though is go try them out yourself and see what you really want.

  • vt30 all tha way dude great sound

  • i have vt15 and ac4tv and i would say ac4tv,

if, you have pedals and stuff to go with it.

and if, you like cleans. It's more of an amp to work with and i've been playing it a lot more than the vt15 since i got it.

but if you have a band and just wanna jam and just want a decent creamed sound the vt30 or vt15 (whichever) would be better.

I took up the vt15 again when i was just gonna play some zep covers with my brother. Beware thou it only does the ac30tb model well, imo

  • i can add that i myself am currently building a pedalboard to fit the ac4tv, its a very modest amp, with only volume and tone controls, but it's an honest amp and you'll hear just how it can make a guitar just sing on its own without effects.

the vt series however has a better overdrive, and the ac4 suffers bad distortion because its a small box, but it has more possibilities for the future.

  • I want this amp!! But it's not yet available in the Philippines...

  • great playing dude!!!amp sounds wicked also.hopefully getting one myself when funds allow!!!rock on!!!

  • Salut!

See you on the forums, dude !

  • Hi jjkrause84 - I'm not french, I'm belgian. Yes there's not much headroom and a 12AU7 may improve that, but I haven't try yet. Still, as it is, the clean tones are very nice.

  • D'accord. I'm sorry for assuming that you were French....I just got so excited at the opportunity to practice my French that I assumed.

    Anyways, have a good day.

  • I'm belgian, but mainly french-spoken indeed.

  • Superb playing and a great taste in music - love your running down a dream chords!

  • Sounds great . I`m assuming the tubes and speaker are stock?

  • That's right, everything's stock.

  • what's the song at 4:30?

  • Hey hey my my (into the black) by Neil Young (followed by Rockin' in the free world)

  • I think I want one! I need a good bedroom amp that get a little crunchy.

  • Great sounding amp, and defintly Vox all the way (well, even if the last part has a bit of an enraged tweed deluxe in it) - congrats!

  • Terrible !

  • Care to elaborate?

  • Beware! "terrible" in french means "great" and not "awfull" ;-)

And Kleuck is french (and a gifted tech - he made me the "trouble booster" pedal I'm often using)

  • The amp has potential. The head has a great price.. I'm thinking of picking one up once they become readily available.
