@loyboy1979 When I first heard it, I thought it was not. But on a 2nd listen, I listened harder, and found that I thought it could be Holly's voice. This is why I posted it for more opinions. Of course my utube video has pics of Buddy, which automatically makes a marketing impression that it IS Buddy, which I have no proof yet...But working on it.
@heyzog Hi- That is an excellent thought. Lou recorded for Coral Records, and I think Buddy Holly backed him on his recording. I never thought of him! I will track him down and see if he is still alive! Very cool! Thanks.
I dont know, I have to say i dont hear the similarity with trider either i think you were closer with holly...You are probably going to find this out ...Its a nobody (not famous) If it were any of the 3 you thought it was at some point they would have recorded a clean copy of these songs because in all honesty they are done well just poor recordings. So thats where i am on this at the moment....
Any idea who this might be then? My first reaction was Buddy Holly. My one other thought was Larry Trider, who also recorded for Coral Records. I have sought out his 45's and have listened and listened to Larry Trider, which is another possible candidate- and the 1 other singer was Hank Davis who actually recorded for Adelphia Records. I have done a lot of research on this and Hank Davis really doesn't sound like Buddy as much as Larry Trider did.
I just listened again you would have to have a serious hearing disorder to think thats buddy holly but i think you should contact the estate with all the tradgedy in there lives i think they would like a good laugh!..........
I think its close but think for a second this would have been early early stuff his voice even on the apartment tapes never bass`d` out (trying to describe) its a little to deep in spots i think shiela by tommy roe is closer than this...
I do not want to sell this. I am researching this enough to find out this mystery. I want to donate this to the estate if in fact it could be an actual Buddy recording, which I believe it is.
I have posted this on Utube for opinions and in hopes of finding out more about this mysterious acetate.
My best guess would be that they are discarded demos. Probably ditched because they sound too much like tunes which _did_ find release(?) Today a recording artist strives to repeat a sound if the first time showed some success. Just the opposite of Buddy who kept shooting for different and better. I've done forensic sound analysis in the past.... all analysis is subject to interpretation, so getting something definitive in that regard is elusive. Consensus of debatable experts is best hope.
Well, this is an actual acetate. It is a 2-sided metal disc, that is well worn. Upon hearing this I made a assumption it was Buddy Holly based on the sound of the acetate.
I put the pictures with the music to imply that it could be him, but this is not a fake or a nice try. It is just a attempt to fish for other opinions, and mine is that this could be a Buddy Holly acetate. Thanks for your opinion. Steve
The more Listen Im concluding this is Buddy Holly..He is unique vocally.

Cool, it would be magic if this and the Ah! ah! one were his!
If nothing else this type of thing proves just how great Buddy was, that we even treasure the most distorted recordings.

Hmmmmm! Interesting
could be, but will we ever know?

@BlueSuedeTom I am in the process of analog vocal comparison.

I have a good ear (am an amateur composer). That is definitely Buddy Holly's voice.

This doesn't sound like Buddy Holly at all...The voice is too deep and lacking emotion...

Sounds like Buddy Holly, but in my opinion it's a nice sound a like. During fifties and sixties there were a lot of Buddy Holly sound-a-likes.
I don't know the name of this artist, maybe someone else knows. I agree with the remarks of rockabillydj. Larry Trider can be a possible candidate.

Very interesting, but I don't think it is Buddy singing. Very sound alike though. Thanks for posting.
