Beautiful tribute to a wonderful thoroughbred. Very well done.  Like anything else, of the thousands of horses every year who race around the world, the handful who suffer catastrophic injuries get the headlines. Go For Wand died doing what she loved to do: run and compete.

I'll never forget her. I'll never forget how I felt after seeing this happen to her. It was horrific. I don't have much to do with horse racing anymore. Thanks for making this video. She deserves to be remembered for the beautiful, courageous being that she was. That all horses are.

this horse was the ruffian of the generation of people such as myself she was such a wonderful horse and one of the most beautiful god given creatures on the planet and it shows how much guts she has when after breaking her leg she still tried to run and finish the race...truly one of the most heartbreaking things that i have ever seen in my life...heres to hoping we dont have anything like this happen in a long long time after Eight Belles as well another great filly that broke down

When she broke down, it simply killed me. I've ( and used to gallop break and train.... )

What I learned early on the back stretch ie the vets were just wheeling drug stores.

Sad -- she was so great. But now gone.

I guess loving animals will just you through pain.

When I was living in FL, I had a beautiful black bear and cub He was a little scared but she let me scratch  her beneath the chin.

I think Princess Rooney might have been better, but it broke my heart when Ruffian busted her right ankle and was still fighting with only a raw cannon bone.

Go for Wand -- oh, man -- that really killed me.

Racing Commission:

1. get rid of toe grabs.

2. get rid of cortisone.

That would greatly help the horse and sport.
