I think its horrible. Its a matter of taste, I see alot of bad rep inhere to the people who said simmilar comments on this style. Remember folks, its all a matter of taste. I love Jason Mraz and this is not a thing against him as i dont see any of the others say anything bad about him. So if all you Jason Mraz fans feel violated its because you think its an attack on Jason.

And they fore them most sound horrible. It workes fore very very few songs. But the rest just gets kinda tainted by it. Seems like alot of singers think that if you slow it down and change alot of the vocals but not the words that its new and cool and more soul.

I can remember songs like "aint no mountain high enough" "papa was a rolling stone" "I saw santa kiss mommy" and also "jingle bells" getting a touch of this style. And it sounded like crap. Even the US national anthem at the super bowl

Its cool that new talents like Jasonb here does a song with Paul Williams. But i agree with arco and jayfey that its not his song and its way too slow. If you look onwards here on youtube you will find a Jason Mraz version of the song that is way more his style and much closer too the original version.

Im not saying that we should always keep cover as close to the original as possible. But there is a tendancy to make all remakes slower and more soul like

i hate that all remakes nowadays are donw slower cause they think they add more feeling to it by playing it andf singing it slower.all the remakes of the beatles songs on across the universe movie were all done slower too.doesnt work.

well, slower versions sometimes do help songs, like it does in Mraz's version of Rainbow Connection. sure, some of the songs in Across the Universe werent as good as the original.

but honestly, no one can ever fuckin top the beatles in a song that they made.

it doesnt matter if its slow or fast, its just the artists OWN interpretation of the song. their not just gonna copy the exact song note for note.
