  • piucking up this guitar today

  • Is Laguna a Guitar Center store brand only?

  • As far as I know, they are the only retail chain that has them.

  • I've never seen these guitars before. Like any smart person, I would have to play one to see what it can do. I tend to stay away from the Big Boz chains like Guitar Center, is that the only place that sells them?

  • @drinkspecials I think it's the only in-store location that does, but they are available online. However I haven't seen them in Guitar Center lately. I am guessing Laguna is going out of business since they just can't compete.

  • My first guitar was a Laguna le122, I was really impressed. Since then I have owned a B.C. Rich, Jackson, and an epiphone, this Laguna trumped them all.

  • I LOVE THIS GUITAR!! I have a laguna le524 and it's amazing. Endless possibilites with tone, and just an overall great guitar and comfortable play. I would recommend getting a Laguna. It's just as good as my strat (which I love to death by the way). A great guitar company. go play one and see what you think.

  • you can change the tone and sound to rock, more of a layback sound ect on every Laguna right?

  • @timberland1108 You can get a huge variety of tones. Actual tone from the guitar isn't that big of a deal when you start putting tons of effects pedals on it, if that's what you do. I know I enjoy that. Lol.

  • Now I wonder why Laguna discontinued the LE522? Well maybe because it was way too good for its price this guitar plays better than guitars 3 times its price that's why I bought another LE522 before I couldn't find it more and if Laguna broghts them back believe they'll be more expensive. I just love the tone, versatility, comfort and looks of this guitar, I'm in love!

  • the first electric guitar I bought was this one, the Laguna LE522 right now I have an ESP ec 1000, Gibson SG Faded, Gibson Flying V Faded and even an Ibanez Prestige and you know what after 3 years of playing my favorite guitar is the Laguna LE522 that's how good it is.

  • i like he says "out of all the guitars ive played, laguna is my favorite" instead of saying its the best because i hate guitar players who embrace their opinion like its a fact.

  • Laguna is definitely good. People who put it down either are talking shit, or they are a guitar elitist. My friend who uses PRS says the action of my LE322 was just as good, if not better, than his Custom SE, and I compared the tone to my other friend's strat, and it put the strat to shame. In some years, Laguna could be a first class brand.

  • @madpaintbalerx

i think that in a few years, laguna is going to be more expensive, cuz they are really good guitars, that's why im getting the le400q, i played it today and it was a dream

  • As a part of the Guitar Center Laguna Guitar advertising campaign, Ben is being featured in full page adds in the following publications: Premier Guitar, Guitar Player Magazine, Guitar Edge, Musician’s Friend and Guitar World.

  • can anyone tell me about the laguna 200q-just personal opinions though-I'm tired of floyd roses-I like them, but my band has a lot of different tunings -so a floyd is a no go.

  • @brbbns1

I played a 200q today... I have played guitars twice the price the price of this guitar with half the tonal quality. Solid guitar. Not a single complaint.

  • Ben is everywhere! Find him at the Laguna site and in major mags. and catalogs. And take note, he was playing them before Guitar Center reached out to him. The new models are GREAT. You can hear the Laguna tone at his website.

The whole album was recorded with them.

  • The more I see/hear these guitars..the more hooked I get. Fender/Gibson have gone off the map in terms of prices. These guitars are well priced and offer fabulous features. From the wood.. to the tuners/nut and the damn good sound of the "stock" pu's... what a deal.

  • I was in guitar center earlier today and I was trying to find a new guitar (seeing as how I just got out of the military and I haven't really played in 4 years) I was looking around trying out some of the guitars I was checking out. Another guy was playing a Laguna right next to me, and the sound of the guitar just blew me away. So I walked out with a LE200BKS. Absoutely love it.

  • Now in the MAY issue!

  • Ben is now in the MAY issue of Guitar World Magazine!!

  • You can find Ben in the April issue of Guitar World Magazine. Very cool!

  • @benadmin indeed! congrats!

  • just bought a laguna floyd rose custom and its epic

  • guitar center had this guitar for 600 new. other sites i have seen had it about the same and more ... but 600 for the le524 seems about right. i have a le 524 along with 11 others and this guitar is very nice.. one of my favorites that i have

  • unexpensive brand today give it 5 years wabam

  • Anyone know how good this brand would be for fusion? If anyone knows, answer soon since I'm going to buy a new guitar tomorrow (sat.)

  • nice necks on those guitars :)

  • How much is it regular price? do they still sell it at guitar center because i cant find it anywhere. anyone know?

  • Exclusive to guitar center. I'm surprised you didn't see them there. They range from $250 up I think

  • @madpaintbalerx They are not exclusive to guitar center. Guitar Center is just one of the only major chains that sells them. Music123 and Zzounds also carry these.

  • @brt927 Ohhh so they lied to me :P lol

  • yeah ive had mine for about two years and still hold up. VERY WELL MADE!! sounds amazing

  • Watch, one day, there are going to be "vintage Laguna guitars".

  • ha.

    "check please"

  • I got a Laguna 422 for Christmas. My mom got it for $250. Its a $900 guitar but they priced it wrong and had to sell it to her for that price anyways

  • I got this yesterday for Christmas, plays like a dream! And through my new spider IV amp, the master can be set very low and so can the guitar which was a wonderful and happy surprise for me, great for those midnight sessions when the parents are asleep. Also the spider IV has a headphone out too if you don't want any sound out of the amp.

  • (continued) Definitely one of the best musical purchases I've made in a while, and although Laguna is a pretty new company, I'm proud to be part of the first generation of players to jam with them.

  • Great series of guitars. Bought my LE422 orange/honey burst from Guitar Centre for 189 down from 599...last one in store. Amazing deal! I was looking for a guitar that could do different styles; my background is mostly metal, but I've branched out into softer stuff and I needed something that could wear a lot of hats. This one hits all the bases--it's beautiful, has great tone and sustain, is very versatile, and has a lot of cool features for the price.

  • if anyone could tell me what effects he used to get the "Stratocaster Stevie Ray Vaughan esque" tone. I know he uses the neck pickup with the coil tap, I just want to know what "digital effects" he used.(pedals, amp settings, etc.)

  • No pedals or digital effects. direct in to a Fender Princeton.

  • I bought this guitar today for 150 for black friday at guitar center....got super lucky, only 4 in the store, got the last one. it is a great guitar. I recommend people check out this company.

  • wow ive heard alot about laguna now i can see why its got a good sound but how well does it hold its self with like alternative metal like breaking benjamin or something like that

  • I was happy to see that your review is based on you actually performing with this guitar and not because you were paid to endorse it. So for you guys that say I wonder how much he was paid to make this vid. Check out his videos. I have one and like it very much.

  • You are correct. Ben has not been paid to speak for or against Laguna.

  • @Haberslam

    Bull Sh*t. This is a c-o-m-m-e-r-c-i-a-l.

  • @LiquorWreckedEmGood R U sure its a commercial? It isn't smart to say things with out doing due dilegence, that means to verify your assumptions. A fact and an assumption are 2 different worlds.

  • @bluwng

That's what we call in the business a non-denial. And as far as smart goes, my IQ is 162 and I'm guessing yours is about room temperature.

  • @LiquorWreckedEmGood And what business would that be? IQ does not guarantee success in business, I work with several PHD that are direct reports to me, and yes they are much smarter than I am, I am still their boss. BTW you never validated your statement all you did was make a sophomoric smart ass remark and make claims of intelligence. Feel free to respond, but I have nothing more to say. Good luck 162.

  • @bluwng

yep. room temperature it is. bye then.

  • me have sunburst guitar starter pack

  • i dont know why but i found a laguna for 145 at GC on the new rack. I didnt hear anything about a sale.

  • yea, the finishing touch is not that classy. nice sound though

  • i have a laguna and it's great! It's a shame that no one really knows about them

  • I bought a Laguna LE200 Electric Guitar in the gun-metal satin color. I have it running on a Spider III 75w solid state amp and it sounds very good. I was mainly looking for a guitar that could play great cleans (was originally looking at Ibanez) and this axe was starring me in the face at guitar center. With the 5way switch I can get great cleans...warm tones...les paul sounds etc. Sounds fantastic for a $250 guitar and feels like a a dream in my hand.

  • Dude you are so right I did the same thing I was looking at an Ibanez because guitar center had a clearance sale and before i could get back someone grapped it so I tried this laugunna the new one like he has but the one without the wammy with the block head and it sound great

  • Would this guitar be good for Surf or Rockabilly?

  • I'll ask Ben... but I'm sure he'd say yes. :-) To me, the guitar is only as good as it feels to the one playing it. If you like the feel, if it plays well, and gets the tones you're looking for... then rock on! You don't need a $5,000 guitar to be awesome... Laguna seems to be a great balance between budget and playability.

  • This guitar is really awesome, I got one and the range of sounds you can get with this thing is amazing, and its got great tone, and great feel to it while playing, one of the most comfortable guitars I know. And I play mainly metal, and its great for that, double locking tremelo, and floyde rose bridge, Humbuckers give you a deep heavy, distorted, but clean, tone. And its great for clean stuff too, this video does not lie.

  • I think Laguna is SHEEIT!!!!

  • lol you should have said "the" shit!!!

  • i got the le524 flamed red finish for 299.99. i play metal and it sounds sexy

  • wat type of music is this 4?

  • Mainly metal i guess because of the tremolo system

  • @guitarperson97 le200 are good for anything trust me: I played Pink Floyd, Megadeth, Black Sabbath,Muse, anything i could think of I threw atr that model and it threw back in full!

  • is this original or liscense floyd rose?

  • It's not Floyd Rose, It's just a Laguna double locking tremolo, I think it's pretty good because I played one at Guitar Center, and it's really smooth playing. It plays just like a Floyd too, except it doesn't have the name on it. I think it's a steal for the price of $299.99 at Guitar Center.

  • this guitar is 499.99 the guitar you probably saw was on clearance was the le 422 or 322 or even 122. this is the le524

  • Whoops, I don't know what I was looking at. wrong guitar maybe.... : /

  • a coil tap is a thing you put in one of the knobs, so you can pull it outward to have single coil or push it in to have humbucker. my dad has one in his telecaster and its great because it gives you great versatility

  • whats a coil tap

  • I was strangely attracted to the look of this guitar for some reason... I can't really put my finger on to it, but I just... was. Now that I checked it out even more, I've found even more good qualities on it, such as the versatility. Perhaps it was destiny.. Not a big fan of the Headstock, though.

  • Is this the one that the tone scroll pulls out?

  • You mean the LE524 model? Sure looks like it, I got one, it is the best guitar ever in my opinion, doesn't go out of tune cause of the double locking tremelo, floyde rose bridge, pickups are great, the neck is wider than most guitars which is really comfortable. I got it in transparent black, it looks really awesome.

  • i have the same damned guitar as you...

    =)

  • i have lagona its rocks best guitar ive got in a long time

  • Was that a guy prompting him to say "it sounds good" at about 2:51?

  • It wasn't a prompt, It was the video guy offering his opinion and we left it in.

  • i just bought this guitar and really like it. the pick-ups really give it a nice sound. and the double locking tremolo keeps it in tune. this guitar was worth the money!

  • How much did Laguna pay this guy to make this video, lol?

  • ive got it and it kinda sux its jus good for beginners.i wanna get a new 1 already

  • Probably cause you don't know what to do with a locking trem

Or if you have one of the beginner models you just don't know how to set it up.

  • yeah it cuz i have a beginner model and i play metal music so it doesnt really sound as good as id like it

  • I would recommend that you throw on a Super-Vee tremolo (look it up) and some EMGs. You might not be able use the Super-Vee locking nut, but a Floyd Rose-style will work fine.

  • i agree its ok i got it also my friends got epifones les pauls and the feel is pretty close to that but its still pretty good

  • I got this guitar I like it.

  • I just bought this guitar and it's awesome! Much much better than others in this range.Crazy sound, don't need my strat anymore cuz this is coil tapped. Only disappointment is the finish, much much darker leaving the patterns unoticeable from 5ft away, just looks like a black guitar.

  • looks nice I'd like to try 1

  • If that's a blue rg 120 in the background in the beginning I have the same exact guitar. It's good to see someone else that has it in blue.

  • ibanez?

its not. RG's are definitely more pointed on the horns. plus, the dude is advertising lagunas. And why would a guy who can play like that have a 200 dollar rg120?

  • RGs are all similar when looked from behind...

  • It's a Brawley in the background. Brawley became Laguna.

  • I really want this guitar... look at all the diff tones you got in one guitar.

  • yeah, looking closer it doesn't look as curved like the headstock on an RG.

  • ya A LOT of fenders jacksons and PRS and many other high end model guitars have bolt on necks and they play like a freakin dream-its the electronics that mainly help quality wise as far as sound.

  • love the guitars can't stand the style he's playing

  • I got a Laguna Spider II yesterday and I hope to learn to play good with it

  • well meghan3192, your on crack. no offense.

  • I've got a laguna and I can't stand it-bolt on, cheesy, flimsy everything on it seems phony!

  • How long have you been playing for?

  • Well, it's really not fair for me to say that (Been playing for a year) because I haven't played many guitars It's just I don't like it vert much

  • dude u need to get good before u start shitin' on a guitars name

  • maybe you're right but the way he said it...

  • im gonna get tha honeyburst hum single single its nice

  • Will you post some vids?

  • oh

maybe i just like multicolored guitars idk

  • i like the finish on my guitar better

    check it out!!!

  • I also got the LE422 HBT--and it cost me all of $299.99.

The strength of this guitar is the adaptability of it through many tones from a Strat-like sound to a Danelectro chime.

What caught my attention was the nice-looking nickel hardware and the honeyburst finish. I bought a tremolo-equipped model to use as an everyday instrument in place of more collectible guitars, and it serves the purpose very well.

All that and a pair of strap locks to boot.

    Nice guitar.

  • at 2:55 someone tells him what to say!

  • Maybe they were just giving their opinion, and he agrees.

  • i just bought myself a laguna, and so far im very happy with it. 300 bucks.

  • haha! i heard the guy at 2:50 tellin you to say it sounds good!!! im buying one these guitars real soon for 500 bucks!! just makin sure that its kickass XD

  • Got the LE 422 HBT. Really beautiful honey sunburst and plays well. I own about 20 guitars and this one may become my favorite, I've been comparing it to my others and keep coming back to it. I have a vintage re-issue strat and this is far nicer sounding and playing. The bridge PU in single-coil sounds almost like my tele's. Like the guy said it can do it all...and did I mention it was beautiful?

  • Maybe you should learn how to play

  • can u play sum

    slipknot

    disturbed

    killswitch engage

    with these guitars?

  • Yes, but those bands suck, in case you didn't notice.

  • o rly?

do u perfer to play to the jonas brothers?

  • no dickhead, i play real music, like Slayer, Ozzy, Motorhead, and Death.

  • Laguna guitar: $300.00

PWNING longhornftbl11 for listening to shitty band: priceless.

    \m/

  • generalkilljoy has good taste in music except disturbed is pretty good i take guitar lessons where their bassist got a ton of basses

  • These guitars are amazing. I have the 322 avb and I can easily go from ac dc straight to hendrix then over to mettalica and end with bob marley easily with it. Great guitars.

  • Well, it is missing one thing. A way to lock the bridge, so you can retune to open tunings without going out of tune. A problem all Floyd style bridges have.

  • Just your basic "Super Strat - Furniture Guitar". ESP, Ibanez, Charvel, Jackson, etc.

  • you forgot punk! lol I'm playing a punk show with the LE524 this weekend.

  • This is with out a doubt the best guitar in the world! PERIOD!

  • I just got an LE 322 and its hands down one of the best guitars I've ever owned I strongly recommend picking one up.

  • me 2 i got mine around chrismas when they first came out

i was going to get a stratocaster but i dont like have things alot of people have.... so i found the laguna le322 custom and i loved it and got that one instead

one question is there any difference bettween the one he is using and ours? im guesing there is cause it cost a little more

    thanks

  • I just bought a Laguna LE 422 yesterday, and it is truly a fantastic guitar. I got it on sale for $400 (normally $500), but I believe it is worth much more than that. It has a Louisiana swamp ash body and maple neck with rosewood fretboard. It has a honey sunburst finish. The pickup configuration is HSS, and the pickups sound absolutely great.

I fully agree with the this video about the range of tones and sounds you can get. It's a great guitar and I hope Laguna becomes more well known.

  • Dude, you overpaid, here in Lombard, IL, the LE422, the next guitar I'm getting, is only $300, normal retail.

  • hes has the laguna LE522 not LE422

  • yes i have the laguna guitar that came with the rock pack

  • me 2

i just need beter tuners 4 it i need grovers
