@MrEthan91 not when the front is SEALED off from the back. When the baffle is completely isolated and no bass can go backwards, it is DEFINITELY the best way to do it. The reason it sounds like crap most of the time when you aim forward is because of cancellation. If the bass cant go backwards, there is no cancellation and therefore it sounds MUCH better. Aiming backwards eliminates cancellation also but it also creates body flex and obviously rattles like hell.

I hate rattle. I had a Camaro with an Apline 12 in it and it rattled the trunk bad. Put the same sub in my new Trans Am and doesn't rattle...makes it sound way better at higher levels IMO.
