Mauleguy... awesome videos here, and I have vol 1 and 2 on DVD already. Hey I'm just wondering..Since those bushwheels are probably fairly low pressure, when you brake hard, do they ever slip on the wheel? I may be getting some AK Bushwheels for my plane (Ridge Runner III taildragger made by Rocky Mountain Wings of Nampa, ID), and just want to konw if you've ever had any issues with slippage.
@CebuBangkaRacer I have never noticed any slippage but even if they did it would not be a problem since the valve stem is part of the side wall of the tire. It takes two men and a boy to dismount a 35" tire on a 10" wheel also.
my uncle just bought this plane, me and are gaggle of flying buddies went flying in the cubs and no one could touch his landing distances. he landed on ping pong table size grave bar! with me, a 200 lb guy in the back. this plane has so much horsepower to it that it sucks you back in the seat when full power is put on not to mention it climbs like a banchie!!
That is actually all that is on a Super cub fuselage that is structural underneath the fabric. It looks a little different now that I have my extended baggage built now.
Great flying, but looks like a good place to break off a tail-wheel.

Is cold weather required to benefit from the lift?

Wondered if the tail wheel just swivels; do you just use differential brakeing? Great video. N-6395T

@mmichaeldonavon
Differential breaking and the force of the wind from the engine against the rudder help you turn on dimes!

cool idea, the naked fuselaje lol,

Nice flying there!

Winner! Just look at the rate of climb!!!
Gotta say, it really does look spindley aft of the cockpit. Is it designed to flex when the tailwheel touches down?!

He would then have to install the upper longerons meaning more weight. I say don't touch nothin cause it's a pretty helicopter.
bushpilot50 2 years ago
whats the point of having covering removed? better would be to have it on for aerodynamics and it cant weigh that much to begin with.

I've seen seagulls make longer landings! The first takeoff couln't have been more than 150ft..... at least it LOOKS that short.
