Really really enjoying ss. Found you through. Check out my side project Tanned Vampire when you can. Myspace.com/tannedvampire. It's super orchestral layers of electronica and symphony that I think you'll like. I've been really digging into your stuff and feel like I found a like mind! Cheers!
For your drum tracks , here's a great trick (I'm a professional drummer):
tune the top head of your floor tom down very low and then glue a circle of
naugahyde directly to the drum head............it makes a killer , sort of TR-808 sounding kick drum sound. You can tune the drum very low.......it won't sound like a floor tom at all. Keep up the beautiful music. Rick
ps you can even do this trick with a 12" or 14" rototom.
This is awesome, I mess around with loopers but nothing like this. I really like how you get a nice drum track with just a snare and a tom, very cool!!!
hi im interested in the Echoplex. but i cant get 2 like you have.what is the main reason for you having 2? just wanted to know if there where sounds i wouldnt be able to get with just 1.
@merlinmercer I use two essentially because they're mono. I prefer to separate my guitar signal from my vocal signal. If you're just looping one instrument or you can use a mixer, just using one Echoplex can work just fine!
State Shirt i just started looking at your work about past few couple of days, and i gotta say i can't get enough, it amazes me your artistic ability and this live looping has convinced me for sure your a music mastermind in my eyes, good job 5 star
Great song State Shirt... just read one of your interviews, and checked out your site (via hearing you on TheSixtyOne).
I'm definitely a new fan of yours. You could start referring to yourself as "your favorite musicians, favorite musician", lol. Cliche, but I shared your stuff with another lead guitar player & vocalist with other bands... we all agree you're doing good stuff man.
Well, keep up the great work, you're an inspiration to us all out here in the indie world!
nice dude =) i've had a gibson echoplex in my arsenal for about 4 years and.....I hate to say this but......I freakin never cracked into it! arghhh. so much time no space or how do they say too little time and no space ..huh........ right. Beenn too busy in other musical endevores for years now and this one has been collecting too much dust. My whole kick bout this unit is it ain't stereo. My mind is wrapping the pos about a mono feed and gettin all that juicy sterio feed. Any ideas? :)
Thanks! Well the echoplex definitely has a learning curve, it can do a lot. My only solution to the mono thing was to sync two of them together. They sync just fine and you can get stereo separation. Gets a bit pricey though!
dude, ur are truely awesome...i first heard about u on FrostWire/FrostClick whatever it is...but now i visit ur website at least 2 times a day 4 times a week :)
Wow Ethan, this song gives me chills, its amazing and I am very impressed with your live impromptu performance. I do don't nt know a lot about music, except for what I like to listen to, I am impressed with the looping, I first saw and heard about that at the KT Tunstall Star Lounge.
The lyrics are great, reminds a bit of somebody we both know. Coincidence?

that was painful (in a good way) you are very rare talent, i think a good name for the song would be "GO" as it seems (to me) about things leaving :0(
i stumbled upon yourself looking at looping Vids & wow what a fantastic find :0)
i have a number of looping devices and take great pleasure in them, i find creating sound a great outlet :0)

What's the tuning of your guitar. It seems not the casual EADGBe, right?
Newpjeut 2 years ago
you are correct, it's DADGAD, pretty much the only tuning I ever use.
