  • why the fuck was this "reporter" so surprised when people didn't immediately say it was a horrible idea? and what "certain behavior" are they "condoning"? are they living in the year 1800 in their heads?

  • they dont want to condone certain behaviours?? what happened to the state has no business in the badrooms of the nation? if im paying an establishment to provide me with a service then its going to be completely on my terms!

  • what year is this? 1924??

  • @10243406 lol you jelly zon?

  • @babyashhxoo ok niggah

  • In UK, this type of dorm is available in almost every single university; students can choose too. I prefer this dorm because female flatmates keep clean and other male flatmates follow because they are shy to make things dirty in front of girls.

  • Co Ed Dorms should be Ok. I mean we are Sending our Kids / Young Adults off to College to Grow Up and act like Mature,Trusting Young adults, Right ?

  • if only i could stay in my room and get laid by default in virtue of proximity and time, i'd be summa cum laude by the end of this college career

  • COME ON!!

They are grown-ups! of course this should be aloud :-)

  • oh man i wanna go there but it cost too much

  • i don't understand why this got coverage but the co-ed showers of bard dormitory up in columbia univ medical center didn't.

  • Really, there is nothing new here except the possibility of official sanction. The dorms have been co-ed for years -- I entered Columbia in 1974 -- and if people wanted to get together in their dorm rooms, they did. The single sex dormitory went out with the events of 1968. The two differences, as I see it, are these: When I was a student, the college picked one's roommate if one got a suite or double room. And if guys and girls are roommates, the girl will get the most closet space.

  • I think the major point missed here is the fact that this all came about as an attempt to provide suitable housing for the the genderqueer/transgender community. Wasn't that the main point from the beginning?

  • Seriously people, there is nothing wrong with this. In fact, lots of students will be better off living with someone of a different sex. You have no idea about individual situations.

  • Tell me. Can ya masturbate in college?

  • hell yeah!!

  • limited studying more sex!!!

  • That is a great idea. Next great idea would be to have an on-campus abortion clinic, so that students won't have to drop out or miss class when they get knocked up.

  • lol

  • wow how progressive, whats next, teaching kids that condoms stop pregnancy? stupid fucking americans, join the rest of us in the 21st century

  • There is nothing wrong with that if both parties agree or are friends...

  • How times have changed..

  • Damn, I should have went to Columbia lol.

  • go libs

  • Dumb move.

  • By the way, can I switch parents? Those interviewed were the coolest ever!

  • "Ohh nooo, the moral fabric of the U.S. is unraveling. All is doomed. And I'm a dumbass. Ohh nooo!"

  • That's not a good idea on the school's part.

  • damn i wanna go there

  • columbia rocks!

  • It's going to come the time when it's going to be illegal by the law to say the word "Haven" and "Hell".

  • Now, why they do not allow prostitution on campus? It would be more fun for students and it would help them to stay away from the main purpose that they came for. Anybody head about studying is the main thing to do at the University???

Colombia residences' staff, I got a question for you, are you OK??

  • Giggity :D

  • I'm all for it, if it will cut costs for the student's (parent's) fees. College should be on the sock market. I would have made a ton of money, with all the fees going up. Somebody is making out like a bandit.

  • theres gonna be alot of college babies

  • Why wasn't this already allowed? What was the big deal? You would think that Columbia University wouldn't have been so backward to not already have adopted this policy... or rather, forget the policy... you would have thought they'd have rid themselves of archaic policies preventing cohabitation a long time ago.

  • what the hell is that one debbie downer chick talking about

  • Agreed
