great vid,its a strange set up,here in the uk my semi has 3 axles on the tractor and 3 on the trailer.its gross is 44 tonnes.we get the 4 axle tractors bit they never have the little 2nd axle, they are always used for real heavy haulage.
@nibizsw3 Well we got the TV shows! We Have the history! Cant we all just love what we do??????We are ont his planet providing the same product so lets be proud of what we do and hold out head sup high! :)
@104bigTruck yes, you have the most darkest history than any other country. wiping out the whole nation(indians) to make room for what? big trucks and broken people? american history book is a porn magazine.
@104bigTruck . I'm a heavy duty mechanic, shutting your trucks off in that temp is not the right thing to do.. The oil in the turbo cooks up in the bottom of your turbo and the more you do it the more times it gets thiker..Also you'll burn 0,02 of a gallon while being loaded, and your cycling your engine coolent flow thru the rad and your air to air is circulating the air for the turbo wich is better for the truck. Diesels aren't made too be turned on/off/on/off/on/off.
isent 90,000 over waght bc i know im only alowd 80thou max or i get a big ticet how did u get past the scales without getting in trubble just ceriouse
hey big truck, nice video,, .. see you are swiss ?? i drove logging truck back in schweizerland and worked a while in canada,, now moved to tennessee,, drivin van now,, sometimes miss the logging truckin,, its addictiv :):) ciao
I really never thought of Wa. as a pulp producer. You learn something everyday I guess. I thought WA was more of a timber export state and always thought of GP as everything in the row every twenty years. They have come a long way in tree farming. Did the bubble bust hurt the contracts like they did in the past when the market left them holding the buy high sell cheap or just stop digging card.
@215jami We do produce pulp as well. It's amazing that the timber industry actually owns about 23% of the timberlands. The state owns some then private owners and parks are one of the biggests holders. We had a huge export market through the 80's and 90's.Markets change so one has to go with the flow. Funny now we are importing logs from Canada even. Huge Korean market on logs now.
@Rhinoch8 Better do some research buddy. This is alot of state timber sales here in Wa. Going to schools and other vital things needed. All areas are replanted within a three yr period,Water filters are in ditches, streams, buffer zones around creeks rivers, ponds etc. google Wa. state timber facts and you will find that you just putyour foot in your mouth when you see how much the timber industry owns.
@104bigTruck Hey chillout man, just asking. I just don't understand why you need to replant, when all you have to do is let the non-mature timber grow... You know, making tracks and aiming timber fall. Well that's my European conception of forest managing, we do that well in Switzerland where things are limited and we can't just cut clean like that.
@Rhinoch8 trees grow likes weeds here in Western Washington. We replant and also let the natural hardwoods and softwoods emerge as well. Timber companies take pride as well as its workers in this line of work and if we don't take care of thing well, we don't have jobs. Thanks for watching Swtzerland! :)
@69adrummer Most logging trucks do not have to keep a log because they are local driving but there are times when i have driven further where I need to yes.
Its very rare for a 10 minute video about trucks and logging to get my attention, but that crane operator skills made me watch this, btw, nice camera angles during the truck travel, also, american trucks are just gorgeous, I just don't understand why the logging trailer twists the load, in europe that illegal and each trailer carries his own load between the forks and axles, Nice vid!
Exactly....try coming around a 180 degree corner switchback on a hi-lead tower logging show witha hayrack and a fifth wheel....of course don't ever try cornering in the winter and getting bunk bound........
@tunespt hey tunespt,, in europe illegal ?? not in switzerland,, wood up to approx 16 meter length can be hauled that way with iron bar between tractor and connection to trailer,, for longer logs trailer is independent from tractor and radio/tele commanded for steering.. some european countrys dont allow that you re right,, but not all.. ciao
@freightliner450 yeah Im from kentucky and we usaly dont cutt smaller than 20 inches on the stump, cutt trees before 3 people couldnt reach around, which thats all soft wood out there maybe some hard woods idk but its small
@TheJason575 Narrow minds like yourself make it look that way. You see the glass half empty. This has been logged off twice over the past and will be logged again in another 30 40 yrs.
@TheJason575 my dad logs and I know its bad, but... I garuntee you use some kind of wood product in your day to day activitees so you contribute to this, and you really cant say much unless you didnt use wood products... not being a dick but just saying
@TheJason575 my whole family logs and I know its bad, but... I garuntee you use some kind of wood product in your day to day activitees so you contribute to this, and you really cant say much unless you didnt use wood products... not being a dick but just saying
My dad drives a 1997 or 1998 Peterbuilt log truck with an 18 speed and a 550 cat, but my dad and I have hauled bigger loads than that for 92 thousand pound that was on the 1991 Internation with an 18 speed and a 425 Cat.
The greenies in Australia have just about routted all logging in Austalia. In 1988 all logging stopped in far north Quennsland where i live and now the only place left in Austalia that are still logged is in Victoria and Tasmania, but for how long, who knows. The town that I live in had three saw mills and now there are none. @#%ing GREENIES.
We adopted the same CB notification system here in Australia. That goes for everyone in the industry and casual daytrippers with a CB in thier 4x4's too. Sure beats becoming a hood ornament on a Kenworth or Western Star!!
Cool vid manDo you think some of the footage on American loggers is hypted up for Tv? We log on the east coast which i know is totally diff than you guys in the big woods, but if my dad ever seen a guy running around with a saw on the landing like big mouth Gabe does he would send him down the road, Im sure our style of logging is easier than yours but saftey is everything we still make our mill loads without all that drama, be safe man and nice truch, peace bigweelz379
@cdeastman These loads are legit! That truck is legit too, but the American loggers trucks are nice too. These guys have a legit logging job and loads! I'm from Canada, and the loads here are like these ones, even bigger. they have 3 wheel dollies here and in Wa. too, the easterners can't log as well as us westerners, just sayin...
haha buddy...ur a tool...go out in the bush and see what its like working ur ass off and making 15 bucks an hour....machines doing all the work...haha ur a fuck nut. go out there and see what its like running around with chokers and hooking logs. grow up
