  • I like your accent :).... unfortunately I have no interest in native Americans so I will not be reading this book.

  • @twinklybird haha dont apologize I do the same thing whenever im talking to an audience, i think most people do to be honest

  • Are you wearing earphones or are they just very funky earphones?

  • I live in an area which has a lot of different native tribes and reservations...In my immediate area there's mostly Yurok, Karuk, and Hupa, but there are dozens of others within about a 100 mile radius. There's a casino on every reservation, and the communities are absolutely rampant with alcoholism and meth addiction, robberies, and violent crimes. Something that I've always thought was really strange is that I've talked to a lot of them who say they prefer to be called Indians for some reason.

  • Sounds like a really good book!

  • you have a beautiful and sweet face, lovely smile.love to see your angel face.

  • Great background information. We could learn so much just by looking back at history and seeing all the mistakes that have been made. Great job setting up the video with historical facts. Very informing and very enjoyable. P.S. Awesome earrings:)

  • Hey :D Am, I got 1 more question, Twinkly... How old is this book?

(P.S: Pay attention on the "Part Three" thumbnail, there's a ortographic error ;) )

  • Cool. Robert Johnson was a legendary blues guy. He was a huge influence on other legands like the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and many others. I'm enjoying your presentation. I eagerly await the next two parts. Also, the Native history was right on target.

  • Alright sweetie, let's start on a good note and state the obvious that your extremely beautiful! So if your ever in the North East of the US feel free to say hi! Next, your a little off in the conversation about the American Indian's! I guess being in another part of the world and not growing up with this history makes the over all understanding of what took place hard! Had to delete the rest of what I wrote cause I ran out of charaters, LOL! The subject is complicated! Let me know! ran out lol

  • I usually don't comment when I disagree with you, since you usually fair, but I believe you were quite wrong in saying that genocides occurred under Andrew Jackson. Jackson's attempt at removal was intended to be painless. However, the Native American's themselves put it off until winter, creating the infamous "Trail of Tears." Even then, it was no genocide. As for the forcible acquisition of land in general, one should remember how that land was acquired by the Native Americans--by force.

  • i liked this video it is very informative you should do more of these you have a amazing way of speaking which grabs the attention of the viewer.

  • I really like your videos, not only because they are informative, intelligent ( whatever you understand by that ;) ) , i like your voice, and the way you seem to be !

  • Looked it up, it's available in my local library. gonna get it tomorrow and I'll try to finish it before you post your third video #dontknowifthatsanattainablegoal

  • hey what's your name? (other than twinklybird)

  • i think i am in love....

  • for some reason i just kept thinking about supernatural

    and your damb beautifull face

  • @aztecfighter5 Haha, thank you! I <3 Supernatural :)

  • @twinklybird why do you always smile while talking?

  • @twinklybird Dean and Sam are crazy bad ass!

  • @aztecfighter5 I know what you mean dude she is soooooo cute but the thing is and I am sure she will admit it, that its the innocent ones that you have to watch out for ;) LOL I will admit however that I love watching her talk... Twinklybird its the way your lips move when you talk. Its so cute :) Keep up with the vids ;)

  • unsubscribe, lady

  • Intelligent girls ftw!

  • @twinklybird oooh xD well, i'mm a Brazilian, so i guess i wouldn't find that book around here, what makes me sadly sad :'(

  • I don't like reading, so I was just about to stop the video when I heard the words "song lyrics" and "magic guitar" and had to stay. It actually sounds like a cool book! :)

  • Okay. I hope you don't mind but I'm going to go actually read this book and come back to enjoy the book talk. Peace out(:

  • @antwanjay That's awesome!! See you then :)

  • I rarely read books, however this video made me wonder why i dont. Interresting video and nice job with the background music, i dident noticed it at the start, which must mean that you're saying things i find funny/interresting :)

Thank you for eleven and a half minutes entertainment on this dark monday night :)

and last but not least some good study music in the link!

Once again keep up the good job!

Happy thoughts and joy to all of you! ^^

  • Haha je bent nog steeds zoo leuk! =)

  • YOU ARE SO CUTE

  • now do another book like.. euhm...Vehicle propulsion systems by Antonio Sciarretta ! :-)

  • oh boy, maybe I should've studied Brit & American literature instead of Slavic. I'm only familiar with the most canonical American writers like Heller, Vonnegut, Steinbeck etc. but a good chunk of your audience is American I believe so I'm sure someone will get something out of this video ;) and the rest of us at least get an incentive to brush up on the subject so it's also good.

  • When are you posting the rest of the videos?

  • It's fun to watch you do what you enjoy doing. If it signifies anything, Betty and Veronica are girlfriends of the title character in the "Archie" comic books, about teens at a fictional middle-America high school, published since the 1940s. In 70 years, ginger Archie has never been able to choose between girl-next-door, blonde Betty and rich, glam, brunette Veronica. Also, "Cavalry Records" is interesting - US Army cavalry corps (including Sheridan's) took the lead in Indian suppression.

  • @loopshackr Yep, in the next video, I mention the significance of Betty and Veronica and the allusion to the Archie comic books :)

  • @twinklybird Sorry if I made a spoiler. As a kid I would go down to the corner drugstore magazine rack and read Archie and other comics. I could usually get all the way through a couple of them before the manager threw me out. Getting content without paying, old school style. The joke's on me - buying the comix and holding onto them would have been a better investment than most I've made!

  • Your brother has been my inspiration since I begin in YouTube!, I like your videos too!, it's nice to learn something in YouTube :D

    Greetings! =)

    RaRF ^__^

  • @RaRFtv Thanks! :)

  • You should make one of the videos with your hands tied behind your back, or well try to :-p

  • @T3nEighty Haha, oh that'd be so horrible for me :) Sorry about the hand movements.. I'm so used to it...

  • Living near WA State/Spokane I like your take on this, and how you got yourself more information to have a better understanding of the book. Think I'll check this book out, definitely be watching for the other vid.s on it.

  • @Junior8325 Aw, thanks! It's a really nice book, it's even fun if you don't know anything about the history, but after looking up some info about the context, I found it to be even more touching. Thanks for commenting!

  • 3:17 Columbus wasn't even the first European to discover America. Leif Ericson beat him by about 500 years.

  • why are you so beautiful?

  • @CometLol Victoria's Secret models are beautiful. this chick is pretty but more like 7/10

  • I enjoyed it... Can't wait for the other videos.

  • @remedywithin Yay! Thanks :)

  • @twinklybird Anytime... I've been watching you for year's. Love your content. I hope all is well... Take Care.

  • Never even heard of the book, i love how you were inspired to gaon a bit more knowledge to help you understand the references made and the historical values that are put intot the novel. I may even go as far as picking it up for myself, it sounds rather good lol. How was your trip to london for new years? Did you manage to go and try out Neds Noodle Box?

  • @pkbreeze08 Thanks!! :) Hope you try out the book, I definitely recommend it! London was super awesome :) I didn't find Neds Noodle Box, but I'm sure I'll return soon and it's definitely on my list now :) The fireworks were beautiful though!

  • so cute

  • 5:21 "any of the porcelain our reservations are excellent financing too much talking" ; those subtitles are amazing

  • @Adjax42 Hahaha, that's brilliant!

  • I wish I cared. (not sarcasm)

  • sexy

  • wow sounds like an amazing book, however it brings up an on going conflict in north american culture which divide many in the debate on first nation/government relations.. Now have grown up in an area with a reservation on it I don't believe that first nations people should be restricted to life on a reservation {which they are not they can leave whenever they want} however I also don't believe the government should allow them special liberties over the general population.

  • ahhhhhhhhhh, literacy. it burns. thank goodness for funny failed subtitles and mute

  • Josie,I dont think it's a very relevant information, but I think it's interesting and it would be nice to tell you. I'm brazilian, and here in my country we actually never stopped using the term "indian" when reffering to native-americans! Probably becouse of that,we learn in schools young about Colombus' inadequate name for the natives. I don't know why,but the fact is,we still call them "índios" to this very day

  • @PaulThePuppetier Thanks for commenting! I like to know little tiny details like that. I didn't know they were referred to as Indians in Brazil. In Belgium, we use that term also.. I think the term is too widely spread to ever be replaced by a more accurate one. Kinda sad, really..

  • @twinklybird I've heard a couple of authoritative American Indians (ok...) say in interviews that they are not bothered by "Indian," though I guess some are. "Native American" may be more accurate/correct but it doesn't roll off the tongue as smoothly.

  • Just remember it is a novel..... not a documentary....

  • @RevFastEddy Of course, and it's definitely a very fun read! But a lot of aspects do overlap with historical facts, so it is quite interesting to point those out and to consider the wider background of the novel. I know not everyone is interested in that, but I know some of the YouTubers here are, so I thought it'd be nice to some videos on book reviews from time to time :)

  • Woo nice book for sure

  • Put the book down.

  • Not interested? I have no idea what you just said, but i'll watch it anyway.

  • If i could, i'd read that book just because you commented about it... but i live in another country so i couldn't :(

And you look sooo nice on this one! :)

  • @X3MSonicXP Thanks! And you might be able to find it in a library :) I don't live in the US, but I found this one at a bookstore anyway.

  • I wasn't really interested in this video, but I still stuck around and paid attention. Worth it! :)

  • @DrLuis08 Aww, that means a lot! Thank you :)

  • are you reading this for school or something?

  • @LtDrg35 I chose to do my paper on this novel for a class in postcolonial literature :)

  • @twinklybird oh cool :D

  • Hey, that's great.

...now do a comprehensive interpretation of Jame Joyces, Finnegans Wake.

  • @TheJeremiewatson Haha, good challenge! We actually discussed Finnegan's Wake in class last year, my professor is somewhat of a Joyce fanatic. I could give it a shot! :p

  • @twinklybird lol, that would be fun I can imagine. you should def give it a go!

  • I learned so much!

  • Do you read books by Matthew Reilly or Tom Clancy?

I adore these so if you make any review of this it would be awesome.

  • @CaptFailalot Haven't read anything by them. Which books do you recommend?
