I recently (like about 20 minutes ago) watched this movie again, and I was just laughing at how completely stupid their point was during this song, I mean what did those appliances think? that they'd be cutting edge forever?
Funny how this movie makes you care for a bunch of stuff that many would only give a second thought to if they didn't work. Darn you Disney!! You made me care about a freaking vacuum cleaner!
the other day i saw an i touch upgrade commercial, and i immediatly thought of this movie. how old appliances, cellphones, computers,CDs,music, clothes, styles and etc. dont matter to people any more. its just old, out dated, obsolete
When I first heard the ipad 2 was coming out the first thing that ran through my mind was this song. The materialism today is worse than the time this film was made.
It's great how so much of the cutting edge technology in the video is old now. Seriously, when is the last time you've seen a boom box or one of those old computers?
@AntLive1981 Not all of them are out of date. Only the computer truly is. The 2 piece vacuum is still popular, along with the toaster oven, stereo, etc... Many of them we still use today
@AntLive1981 - screw the ipods and laptops. They'd be getting sang this song by 3D plasma screen tvs, blu-ray players, iphones/ipads, gps, and ps3/xbox360. Even the lamps would be singing this song with their low wattage bulbs.
This was my favorite part in the movie. The new furniture told Toaster and his friends to get out of their house in song. The new furniture felt as though The Master wouldn't need Toaster and his crew anymore because they were old shool household appliances and the new household products were State Of The Art Technology. The new products represented "More" for everyday living. So Toaster and his friends were thrown out on their butts after traveling so far to be with their old Master. So sad!
A study lamp, toaster, heating blanket, vacuum, and radio are still useful. No one uses a 20-year-old computer, that cable tv kitchen crap, or a living room projector anymore.
True that, I still use a toaster and a classic vacuum. I have a majority of the modern technology shown in this film, but I have some of the classic appliances, too.
does any one know tha song "i like bread and butter, i like toast and jam" idk the exact lyrics lol but tha'ts kinda how it goes. i like it though! wat's the name of it??? or where can i find it?
They need to make a forth BLT were the "little" master is a teen and has like an ipod and touch screan phone and see how they are like when all the humans are away seeing ipods and iphones in BLT form would be so awesome! If only i can request that to the creaters of BLT!!
@Sarevok57 Actaully, it's in the second movie. But chronologically, it's the third since Rob's a college student in To the Rescue and he's already married in Goes to Mars.
I know you mean well with your comment, but seeing as the eighties was a really weak time for Disney, that's not saying much. Want proof? Two words: Black Cauldren.
@jman3267 That's the real meaning of the song, how obsolescence affects appliances. This theme was also explored to a greater extent in The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars. Also, a secondary theme in the song is a ridicule of consumerism: more, More MORE! As Seen On TV!
It's not funny seeing planes crash into New York buildings anymore. Sorry 80's
