  • Unless you're into U2 hardcore, especially during the 90s, you're probably not gonna be into this song, that's the impression I seem to get from this. Fortunately U2 was ALL I knew in the 90s, hehe.

  • @DoubleMiz Shush now.

  • @cahillgreg - Well, since you asked me nicely... >_<

  • Awesome sound quality

  • perhaps the greatest u2 song of all time...I was at this show....a real special experience to have them play it live for first time ever...unbelievable...thnx for posting the video

  • would have loved to see that, it such a brilliant song (would have been even better with adam doing his bit!)

  • some of the press described this song as a real 'mood killer' and it appears some of the audience voted with their feet

  • @expl0ded09 Yeah, that's too bad. I could only guess that the people who were voting with their feet obviously have no idea what really great U2 music is all about. And although some fans did walk away, I would say the majority of fans loved it.:)

  • what the hell is up with all the people walking away in the background?!?!

  • This Song Is Nothing Without Sinead's Guest Vocals!!!

  • I remember seeing the set list and pointing it out to you that it was going to be played. Thank-you for the memories and the experience of a life time!!!!

  • WOW. I never knew they performed this live.

  • absolutely great...edge´s background voice goes under my skin...wow

  • whose voice is that in the background during the chorus

  • @theempire00 That would be Sinead O'Connor.

  • I thought they played this on early shows on the Popmart tour, before they dropped it from the set in favour of more hits (the shows weren't selling out and maybe they panicked a bit).

  • Absolutely beautiful!

  • this is my favorite U2 song.

  • whoever walked out to go to the bathroom probably didnt realize they missed a once in a lifetime moment. never will forget it

  • This is fantastic. Its incredibly depressing watching the people with poor taste flood to the concessions over Bono's shoulder though...

  • Yup, that's The Edge doing the Falsetto on this performance. He can do it pretty well and can also sing well.

  • FANTASTIC !!!

Thank you for this beautiful made video, thank you !!!

I was there in Amsterdam 21 juni

    Mirelle

  • why, why, why and why they didn't play this in poland ????? WHY?????

  • Why does the song say patchily

  • I'm going on July 6th for u2's second trip through the US!!! STOKED!!!

  • JUNE 3. u think they'll play this there?

  • @DejaVu77777 I would have gone too, but then Bono hurt his back. I'll have to wait till 2011. At least I have the Rose Bowl DVD!

  • Great quality sound....love the deep base coming through compared to the other videos of this song from the Chicago show. Nice work!

  • Next, i think that they should debut "A different kind of Blue".

  • Too bad Adam didnt sing his verse

  • Is that Edge singing the falsetto?

  • In the actual song it is, but live they get a recording from one Sinead O'Conner; another famous Irish singer who lives in the same area as Edge & Bono. Love this song btw

  • wouldn't be suprised... listen to him on the live version of The Wanderer!!

  • love this song. wondering why the ending lyrics were changed in later shows?

  • @bozoned Bono like to change a lot of lyrics live. He does it on many songs

  • speriamo ke la facciano a torino!!!

  • I love it when U2 pulls out beautiful gems like this one. I almost cried when they pulled back out Ultraviolet. Its a shame they didn't do this song the opening Chicago night, I would have loved to have heard it. U2 loves Chicago man! July 6!!!

  • Beautiful song, I hope they do this in Minneapolis.

  • They did this in Toronto, too. I had no idea they were going to play it. The roof of the stadium was open, and I could see people on the balconies of their condos looking in. The 1900ft CN Tower was lit up in colour, almost to the beat of the music, right beside us. Helicopters were flying overhead, and the International Space Station monologue at the end fit in perfectly. Everything seemed so futuristic, but intimate at the same time. I hope they continue to play it for other cities.

  • @ignition1 I was at the show too, and was equally impressed :-D

  • would be a shame if they don't play this song the next year.

  • You're right , This is Sinead O'Connor no doubt is possible.

I can recognize her voice among 100000 female voices since 20 years I'm his biggest fan.

  • bufffff.... u, chicago, don't know how lucky you are.... "no - I told to my girlfriend -, u2 NEVER plays Your Blue Room in a show, get that stupid idea out of your head"... fu**....

  • that "awesome" at the end made this even cooler

  • U2 does love Chicago!! Soldier Field, July 6, 2010!!

  • i 'bout died when i heard they had played this for a special occasion on this tour. You people we're so "lucky"( i mean Blessed!) more than U knew. Thanx to You Tubers for making it happen for me whose set list it didn't make it to :( See U cyber-tailgaters on thee U2 Live Stream/Thread.

  • Nice to see them giving this under-rated classic a go. LOVE this tune... Passengers really does have some brilliant moments.

  • get fucked.

  • Your Blue Room and Ultraviolet are the highlights of the tour.

  • True! but.. you forget one song though and that's The Unforgettable Fire.. also great that they play that one again after all those years, just breathtaking!

  • Nope. That's not Bono.

  • Yes it is Sinead, he announced it at the beginning.

  • Don't think so...because it sounds nothing like the studio version. I'm pretty sure it's Sinead!

  • Thanks for the post. Would like to have see a little of what was up on the video screen. It sure seemed to have Bono's attention. Those dust particles are bugs, btw. Cheers.

  • 5*****

  • The quality of this video is crazy good. Insane. I mean, you can see the freakin dust particles in the air! Thank you so much.

  • What a treat! The lovely voice of Sinead is ghostly and hits you where you live. You hear her,but you don't see her.Inspired and inspiring.

  • Great concert, nice quality. What camera did you use?

  • Love it! Thanks!

  • Amazing video... thank you :) I was the "button girl" - that's our tall friend in the green U2 hat when you pan out, we were right next to him on the closer side.

  • So cool to hear him sing with Sinead! Wonderful!!

  • Si no lo he visto 100 veces no lo he visto ninguna...

  • brilliant. thats all i can say....

  • what a beautiful song....what a treat that they even played this.

  • Everyone has his own blue room : i love this song 'cause every time i listen to it ,I give different meanings , persons and places and have a trip in my blue room. Bono ' s performance helps!! Thanks for the video

  • yes, thats the reason why i love and need u2!!!this guys are beautiful, sexy...only the best!!!

  • the lyrics on 2:37 are not the same of the original song, someone knows this lirycs ??

  • Superbe vidéo, j'adore, j'aurais aimé voir ce morceau joué au Stade de France.....

  • Your video is just awesome!!! I'm tryin' to download it in HD for a multicam clip but everytime appear a strange vertical green line on the right side of the video...someone help me please, this video is the best online for this song, I really need it for my work!! Thanx eltimbomofo for sharing this beauty!

  • I luv this!!!!!

  • WOW! FUCKING AWESOME! x

  • THIS IS WHY I LOVE U2

  • how good is this wow.

  • as someone else said-look at the MacPhisto moves!

  • Hey Awesome Video

dID YOU CATCH VIDEO OF BONO THROWING A TOWEL TO MY WIFE?

    THANKS.

  • Great video and thanks for sharing! :-) Awesome it got played!

  • WOW! They played it live!

  • Thanks! In the studio version, Adam did it.

  • Who spoke the last part of the song? "Zooming in, zooming out..."?

  • the astronaunts at the international space station... thats one of the unique things about this tour, u2 checks in with them at every show

  • Can you tell me what camera were you using?? This video has great image and sound!!

    Thank you very much

  • WoW! Awesome!!!! Thank you for posting and recording. Whoever did that, I admire your steady hand. I know it's not easy. Thanks!

  • I was there down in the front row, and loved it. To whoever recorded this video, you did an outstanding job. Probably the best concert video I have ever seen on youtube.

  • Wow, thank you.

  • @jmarkhagan I'll second that... Simply Brilliant!!! and I think that it has to do with it also being of the Best Band in the WORLD!!!!

  • I was there, feel too lucky, it was just stunning!

Thanks so much for capturing it so well, wow.

Do we know, do we know...who was on the backing vocals?

And what the voice says at the end?

Does Bono sound great, wow. Your Blue Room and Electrical Storm are perfect to fit into the 360 tour show, I think if they're going to toss in rarer band-and-fan favorites it makes sense for the to be of this sort, slower songs, bluer songs, intimate songs. How cool to re-dis-cover this one!

  • 5*****

  • I was there! This was by far the best part of the show. Absolutely beautiful.

  • This is classic U2..

Let's take a song we have never done live or remember doing and try it...

If it's CRAP we will drop it..

This is not CRAP, it's beautiful and helped me rediscover a very beautiful song with the same beautiful words and meaning.

God bless U2 and long live the Irish boys.

    Peace..

  • This video makes you think it was just Bono at the show. Great quality though ;-)

  • I am so beautiful aren't I :P

  • LOL! That's my friend in the hat videoing at about 3:19, we were right next to him... :P

  • Or even DROWNING MAN!! where's that one??? they reheased it in Baecelona!

  • I was there....it was cool! But C'MON WE NEED SOME OLD SCHOOL!!!!!!!!! on this tour! even just I WILL FOLLOW! woudl do the trick!!!

  • What did you use to record this video? Flip HD?

  • Please play this in Giants Stadium next week...true U2 fans will appreciate it...

  • Hey thanks eltimbomofo !! for recording and posting this. I was there at the Concert but didn't understand the enormity of the moment then ...

Hail !! U2 the Greatest band of all times

  • I am a huge fan of U2 and never really liked or disliked this song but as always the band does it live and I fall in love with it.

    Brillant!

  • It truly was a moment to remember and cherish! Thank you for recording it in such a good quality and putting it here!

  • Pure magic...Bono's voice is much more experienced than 14 years ago...and expressions...they are different than in "Passengers" album...This song "grows" in Bono...it's like life organism...

  • very well put.

  • @fanpsone

    You re fucking right guy..

  • Fantastic

  • Like others have said, this is one of the most hauntingly beautiful songs ever written by Bono. I really hope it stays in the set. Never thought I'd see it in a stadium setlist. Jealous of those in Soldier Field to witness this. Thx for recording and posting.

  • and oh yeah, thank YOU for filming and posting, beautiful stuff!

  • Gorgeous. Intelligent music.

  • What's the astrounaut saying after the beep?

  • stupendooooooooooooo bonooooooooooooooooooo

  • WOW! amazing thing to hear this SONG... your blue room and electrical storm on this tour are two exotic sweet surprises!

  • Got goosebumps all over my body!!! Just so amazing!!!

  • U2 website says it is Adam completing the vocals! Was anyone there or does anyone have footage of Adam during song. I don't remember Adam singing since Unforgettable Fire.

  • on the Passengers album Adam speaks the part that the Russian speaks. But it is Bono singing the backing....Check out the Passengers version on youtube.....it is 14 years old though...he did Excellent falsetto

  • i was there - the falsetto is prerecorded backing vocals since Bono can't sing both at once

  • Edge was singing the falsetto in Chicago I believe.

  • i could swear that is Bono...hmmm

  • I would think they would show Edge singing his part....I don't know I still think Bono..I will ask around..

  • @eltimbomofo it was actually sinead oconnor

  • @GQOfficial Yeah someone pointed that out to me awhile ago thanks

  • @barn524 The backing track is none other than Sinead O'Connor.

  • very very very good!!!

  • i say right on to this song. One of the majestic ones from that odd beauty "Passengers". Can;t say at all that U2 "sold out" with Passengers. fuck, they didn;t even use their band name, and had Eno heading it all! Great to see the huge bands play the rare stuff for the more obsessive fans! even the Stones did some great rare cuts their last tour.

    thank you U2!

  • who else is singing?

  • it's like Larry's voice, I don't know

  • Bono did the backing tracks....yep! He still got it....whew

  • Great video. Which camera did you use?

  • pura magia...

  • Simply Beautiful. Thx for the awesome quality.

  • Beautiful, absolutely beautiful!! Thank you for sharing it! :)

  • Amazing song!

  • THANK YOU so much for this. Beautiful.

  • love it!
