    Second, you never heard of debadging? You base your arguement solely on that it does not say Z28 on the car. If that car was indeed a V6, it would have never even gotten the jump it did get in the beginning. The Camaro stayed side by side with the T/A from 0:04 - 0:10. A 3.8L would not be able to do that. Look at the description.

  • I know it's a 97 but I still prefer the old front end. The headlights yellow too quickly on the newer ones and it looks too much like a monte carlo. The older front end had a more sporty and distinctive look imho.

  • @SubZer089 i dont know about camaros as much as i do firebirds and trans am's, so how can you tell that the camaro is a 97 and had a front end change? is it something with the back tail lights? and also i know that the dash is different in the 97's. its easy to tell on the firebirds because the tail lights aren't honey combs and the console inside is different.

  • @oilerman313131 The way how I can tell is the same with firebirds. For some reason, from the 1993-1997 years of both camaros and firebirds, they had black door handles. And by judging that the spoiler and corvette rims, he likes modding the look of it.

    A front end swap is pretty popular because its not too hard to switch everything over. It looks like a pretty clean job, but that is not going to make his Camaro win. XD

    The SS is Chevy's version of WS6, the Z28 is for the regular Trans-Am. Regardless they are all in the same ballpark performance wise. And the Camaros also have "ram air" in the form of hood scoops.

  • GM actually changed the front end not just because it was due for a face lift, but so it would match up to the new hood height.

    The LS1s intake manifold clears higher in the engine bay. other than that all the body panels are the same. looking at the ass end of an LT1 era camaro and an LS1 era camaro you couldn't tell the difference lol.

    I don't know if the Owner of the Z had the clearance issues and decided to swap front ends, but I guess its a possibility

  • yea really dude. the red camaro is my car. its insured and registered as a 97 rs. then u get a new ls1 front end put it on along wit the ls1 under the hood. only v6 had that roof piece painted . my car is v8 just fuly stock wit nice suspension mods. his car had couple things done to u dumb fucks. i bet ill beet any other stock camaros. ran 13 flat on regular street tires. and im a big dude. u guys are all stupid i agree wit furious ls1

  • @tietie1424 No but they had that standard body for a few years. They could have put a 2000 model front end on a 97 Camaro. I know that most GM cars until they do the massive body overhauls (IE the 92 Camaros followed by the 93 Camaros) The body panels all fit together nicely. If they did all that shit in the description changing out the front fenders and bumper and hood is easy to them.

  • You can swap front ends on both the Camaros and the 'birds. We used to have an LT1 with the WS6 package. When a rock flew off a truck and put a hole through nose we swapped in the front from an 01 WS6.

    Whether he has incorrect information or not, you need to learn your cars. It takes a whole hour or so to completely swap between LT1 and LS1 front ends. I personally believe that it is infact a 1997, due to the matching color of the roof clip. This was uncommon on 98-02's..

    Nearly everything from each generation of the F bodies is interchangable. Tons of people throw LS1's into third and first gens, especially for people who are going for a resto-mod or pro touring style first gen. Wheels, rear ends, transmissions, brakes.

    Mustang GT owners do it by bolting on Cobra bumpers. LT1 to LS1 front end conversions. If they own the car, how the hell are they being a poser? I bought a spoiler with the third brake light from a 1988 Z28, to get rid of the CHMSL on the hatch of my 86, does that make me a poser?

V-8 TA 340ft lbs of torque, V-6 Camaro 225 ft lbs of torque, 4 or 5 seconds of running with the TA, highly possible.   • I honestly doubt that red camaro was a v6.. the car shakes when it shifts i got a 3.4L and it doesnt shake when i shift like that anyways and niether does a 3.8. The ws6 was just faster because it had mods.. Im going to say the description lied and the camaro is just stock with a typical DD.. 3.8's cant hang with any ls1 thats for sure.. i've seen them run.. theres a big difference

  • Based off of the front end of the Camaro Its a 1998-2002 model not a 1997 as the author say it is. As far as it being Z28 model no Z28 badges are present and only the base model 3.8 liter V6 Camaro's had BLACK SIDE MIRRORS AND BLACK DOOR HANDLES. The 3.8 liter camaro has a torque output of 225 ft lbs which is just enough to keep up with the TA for around 4 seconds as it did until the TA's high end HP kicked in and fucking smoked em'

  • I'm gonna throw a little bit of a wrench in ur comment here. u would be correct that the front end is from a 98-02, but did you know why GM changed the nose in order to fit the LS1 into the camaro. they had to raise the hood height, so they had to redesign the front clip. Also ur correct again about the mirrors n door handles, but I have a friend w/a 93 z28 n he liked the look. so he painted them on his car along w/ the piece that runs over the top.

  • I believe in 99 they changed the mirrors on all camaros to being the car color instead of black. The biggest indicator of a camaro being a v6 is the body piece that runs between the back windshield and the two windows. On v6s it is painted the same color as the car, on v8s it is black. Some owners will paint it, but IMO it looks much better black.

  • Well I have no all out racecar whatsoever, but It's a 2001 WS6, I have a tick built 6spd..I do all work myself but that,LT headers, deleted cats,slp lid, free mods...stock with the slp lid and nothing done but with new tires I went 13.18@104mph 2.0 60ft...now after 7K invested and I only went 13.07 but with a 2.4 60ft...now with the corrected time of a normal 1/8th mile run like I had stock without spinning through 3rd, I would have ran 12.40's..I eat Scharged cobras n all I have is headers...

  • the real deal is, 5.7 chevy gets better mpg's thatn the 4.6 and is much easier to get power out of and the 5.7 never brakes down my buds had 2 99 z/28s and both went to 300,000 with only needing radiators and tires, where both my grandpas have 95 5.0L's one at 60,000 with many mechanical problems and one at 114,000 and the engine is radeling like its about to fall apart and the trannies slip like a bitch, even my dads pos 89 dakota made it too 275,000miles with no problems AT ALL try it w/t ford

  • Just to clarify their is no difference between an WS6, SS, Z28 or Trans Am. They all have the same LS1 engine only difference at all was that the 01 and 02 LS1's got the LS6 manifold making a little more power but not much. So in any race between those 4 cars its usually a drivers race. Sticks have better gears then autos also. So the stick is a little quicker usually. Im only talking stock LS1's by the way.
