  • @maqsizu the background is ivory black + alizarin crimson permanent. The flowers are a combination of alizarin crimson, winsor yellow, winsor red, yellow ochre, and flake white. thanks for your kind words!

  • thnx!! Is each session wet over dry?...........

  • @josvanr yes, that's right.

  • damn, nothing is easy!

  • Incredible painting. I'm new to oil painting and am really grateful for all the resources provided here by artists such as yourself. Thank you.

  • Thanks for sharing!! Talented works.

  • very nice

  • Great work

  • i like it!

  • why not use bigger brushes while in earlier stage of Lay-in, might save you hours of time, spent time later stage of edges-defining, you must be really enjoying painting PROCESS; like telling a short story long, the teller enjoys telling, while story itself may not need that long a time to be told. I hope you keep on painting, and maybe 20 years or so from now you can agree with me. I sincerely wish you and your art doing well.

  • Personally i disagree. Working with smaller brushes can create a different structure that doesnt come with a large brush.

  • I love the painting and how the flowers really stand out because of the black. I also like how the music fits with the whole video :D Very cool

  • awsome paintings, I love how the music stops but the brush keeps on singing A cappella!

  • Great work. Thanks for posting!

  • great!

  • This is just stunning Lisa. :) Beautiful, thanks for sharing. :)

  • Nice!

  • Thanks Raveena. I use black when it's appropriate. This painting had a pretty dramatic value range. The impressionaists had a rule against it, but I do not. ;-)

  • I paint as well and its been very difficult to stop using black as a background, because light colors are more dramatic against darker ones. Edges are more defined.

  • stop using so much black

  • Holocene12000: Mark? Is that you?

  • cool - love the music too.!!
