wow! you could make alot of money selling these converted mangles. I waited months for an etching press to come up on ebay, and paid nearly £1000 for an old victorian press.

From a pure mathematical point of view I don't know - but I would imagine it is a function of the surface area of the rollers and the applied torque?
I simply used intuitive considerations for determining the dimensions of the working parts!
You may be able to get advice from an emgineering company though?
Do you know how much pressure a press needs to make an etching print?
