Dude believe it or not I too am trying to learn spanish great minds think alike! So noticed you have alot of DJ stuff do you DJ on the side? and the vinyls you got are off the chart!
Koizumi mate! I saw you did a vid response but was on vacation so I couldn't check it out but I approved it - and when I got back and went to see, I noticed your vid was down, and your whole account was deleted! I hope everything's cool - if you have another account set up, feel free to drop by.
HD available in Japanese now too, and it makes the video HUGE and BEAUTIFUL!!!!
WOOOHOOOO!
YouTube ROCKS!
And rumour has it that it now accepts 1440x1080 input, I will be checking that in the coming weeks - that being the case, it will allow me to upload AVC videos made in my editing software.
Blackout schmackout - YouTube does care, this matters much more to me than having my video that says F**K over and over on the top 10 chidlren's video ranking list.
Haha, well speaking as someone who has checked out music shopping in Australia, Japan, New York, and London, and gone on $1000 vinyl spending sprees on trips to those places, the conclusion that I have come to is that nowhere comes close to Tokyo for music shopping. It is crazy that you can find more UK club music, more easily here than you can in London.
I'll have to go checking for that live track, thanks for the tip!
Hey Catherine, thanks as always. Actually, this was a fun vid - most things on the video actually have a kind of special meaning for me (except maybe the torch and the cordless phone...) so this says a lot about me. Thanks!
Hehe, I was wondering if anyone would notice - a wee souvenir from my trip back in July. I reckon it's a pretty cool uniform as these things go. Cheers!
I guess I better get started on this...But I don't know if it wise seeing as I have no many dead hookers lying around all over the place. Aw well, thats why closets were invented, right???
Oh I see you have the "You know you've been in Japan too long book". I think of that book whenever I catch myself staring at other foreigners. I think that was one of the ones in there. Been awhile since I read it though.
Haha, I feel so bad for the author, because it is SOOOO good, but only a few thousand (maybe even hundred) long term resident english speakers really get all of it. I sent a copy to my Mum and she didn't have a clue about what any of the jokes were. It's a fantastic book - spookily accurate about people like me who are going on 10 years here.
Those are pickering stylus and cartridges. Basically, whenever you DJ an event, you need to bring your own turntable needles so I have my Stanton needles on my SL1200s at home there, but when I want to record a mix or play somewhere, I swap them for those Pickering needles that I hardly ever use and that produce a great sound.
I couldn't figure out a way to hold my turntables in front of the camera....
Mate, you should find it if you can. This EP has two of my favorite ever Chemical Brothers tracks - Get Up On It Like This, and (The Best Part Of) Breaking Up. They rock.
Mate, the photo is of Jonah Lomu, a freak of nature from South Auckland. If you do a YouTube search of the name you'll find out why. I met him when he came to Japan playing for the Classic All Blacks (a team of former NZ national rugby team reps) two years ago. The man is a LEGEND!
BGM is by Professor Kliq, a 22 year old kid from Chicago who makes some wicked stuff - really good. Fortunately for me, he doesn't seem to have bothered getting himself signed up to sell his music on CD, and so he makes it available for free on Jamendo and allows use under creative commons. I'm probably going to use more of his stuff in future.
Glad you like it - it isn't easy getting files into HD at the moment. My Videostudio software doesn't let you do it, so I use PowerDirector on the final step to make sure it looks nice.

One of my friends gave me that same book for a Christmas present.
Interesting stuff you have.

Hehe, that's a really cool book. I feel bad for the author that only such a small group of people get most of it. Thanks for the comment!

Makes me want to go buy some stuff... as well as throw out unused itmes so that I can increase the neat-objects-ratio of my room

Haha, throwing stuff out, even crap stuff can be a challenge...
I think wanting to increase the ratio of neat objects in my room is a big part of why I came to Japan. Glad you liked the vid!

I love that WE WERE ONCE WARRIORS movie!
Do that beer trick one more time and I'm taking that away!

Haha, I detect serious iPhone envy ;)
Man, Once Were Warriors is a great movie, but not exactly a tourism brochure for NZ... ;)
Actually, that is the soundtrack CD which is awesome and I really do recommend. Lots of Maori hip hop and reggae music that I grew up listening to.
