@paulyd101 Weight difference? Sure, but I'm almost certain there was a significant age difference. I think Angelo Parisi was retired when he did this lineup against the British National Judo Squad.
When Angelo came to visit my club in the early 70's at the invitation of our sensei, Brian Davis (an adult education class in Marianne Thornton School, Clapham Common [later called Walsingham Sch] he was smartly dressed in an office suit. When asked, by a green-belt if he had done any judo before, he replied, "Just a little". But, when he appeared on the mat, we noticed his black belt, and realised that his "little" was a lot to us - no-one could budge him!! A real gentleman and nice guy!
I know Sensei Parisi way back in the Philippines.. He trained and sponsored me in many international competitions, definitly is one of my best Judo Sensei.. Hope to see him again and hopefully visit my Dojo here in NY,..
Its strange that he's not as well known as all the other greats of his time. Yamashita, Van der Waal etc. He seems to be a legend though! He's very fat these days. VERY FAT.
I trained with Sensei Parisi both in the US and In France, he's by far one of the best in the sport
