  • I'm waiting for too long for this guy to release new stuff. Anyone got some news about him still doing (new) songs for candyrat?

  • HE IS AN ASSET TO CANDYRAT. RT THEIR BEST PLAYER!!

  • Does anyone know if Robert uses fake/acrylic nails or just his natural nails?

  • This guy's a fuckin beast.

  • Are we ever going to see more from Mr. Taylor?

  • This guy is more far out than Ewan Dobson. He is probably the most underated Candyrat player, and the most unique.

  • @pwoods100 So true! We haven't heard from him in years and it's making me sad :(

  • Why did this guy just disappear? I need more of this!

  • oh god.....I watched all 3:54 of this and I hate it now.

  • the man's a machine...

  • Brilliant. This is the type of piece the steel string guitar needs more of. I can see people years from now wanting to learn this in the way they want to learn "Recuerdos de l'Alhambra". Keep 'em comong mate.

  • Love that ragtime sound.

  • Such melody, walking bass, expression, speed, staccato, precision.

It take it this man is heavily jazz-influenced?

Anything he touches is instantly groovy. Such harsh chords have never been so harmonious.

  • What kind of guitar does he have? such a full and diverse sound

  • @dmcgraye

probably Greenfield guitars. these candyrat guys all seem to be playing them. they make the fanned fret guitars too aka twisty neck. and also the guitar that andy mckee uses that's half bass half guitar, it's called the Greenfield harp guitar.

  • What the FUCK just happened at 3:25?

  • awesomeness, It is a cheeky thief song

  • second part its the best! not that the others are far off...just amazing!

  • This piece is AWSOME! It kinda reminds me of what would happen if you mixed Tim Burton with Chet Atkins. I love the charater of this piece :-D

  • such amazing things we primates are capable of!

  • I know robby personaly

  • @mrwarrior2 what is he doing now?

  • Hate the title. love the skills. and love the backround even more.

  • This guy lives on my streeeet!

  • The ending (actually the last chord) made me think; What will happen next in the 'Rapid Petting Zoo' ? :O

  • FUCK YES! I love obscure sounds xD

  • haha that is soo cool wicked speed!

  • sounds bomb

  • i just...came :O fucking fantastic!

  • thats cool

  • you da man.

  • kewl song

  • that was class

you have such fluency its amazing

  • I see so many douchebags playing in open tunings to crowd-pleasing major chords. Thank you for being excellent, original, and a real pleasure to listen to.

  • reminds me of Elogio de la danza by brouwer. the pieces have lots of similar traits

  • are you buckethead's long lost brother?

  • This Guy s a GENIUS.......i mean did you hear/see how fast and melodiously and amazingly he's playing??!!!!!! -------- gave me goosebumps haha

  • @aodan19 I know him, he's a friend of mine.

  • i like it

  • see my video response to get tabs for this one

    :D

  • Fantastico!

  • POLKA!

  • I know its pretty immature but the URL of this vid made me laugh haha. "EDSexU" xD

  • hahaha xD!

  • really unique style, i havnt heard anything like that before. loved it keep on playin!

  • Reminds me of a Buckethead acoustic song.

  • A lot of out of key playing... same with Buckethead

  • Buckethead!!! o/

  • OMG who is this wen did candy rat get him hes very unique sweet cheers for posting!

  • Rob has been on Candyrat for a few years now. -_-

  • We need more Robert Taylor!

  • haha!

Not what I was expecting at all from candyrat, but really cool anyway!

those really fast licks were AMAZING! His fingers move so fast... very good pulloffs too.

  • Wow! I would really love to hear more music from robert taylor. Its so abstract, complex and unique way of playing guitar.

  • That was a wild ride Robert!

    Great music. Keep it up!

  • If you try the harmonics thing he does at the beginning, you'll notice it's in standard EADGBE tuning, but down a whole step or so. Probably.

  • the whole thing = 2 tunings

    DGDGBbD for the first part

DADFCE for the second and third part

    (+ capo)

  • Comment removed

  • Third part is my favorite

Then part one and ofcourse two.

  • Wow that is really impressive.

I love how you use the harmonics in the first half of the song, and the transition with capo on is huge, but it doesn't change the feel. Love it.

  • k thats probably the coolest song ive ever heard in the past year

  • This reminds me of the intro song in the movie "Snatch".

    Cool song though

  • i tabbed out part two this weekend. anyone want to beat me to part one?

  • if you give me the tuning

  • can i have it?

  • well, itd be hard to make it flow what with the tuning changes and the capo being put on,

  • its the same style as blackbird by the beatles except this i much moe complicated and better sounding

  • how does this even compare to blackbird?

blackbird is shit compared to this, the fingering is different, the tuning is different, and its insanely more difficult.

  • well they bth use alot of open strings to create a uniqe sound. like on every chord. acctually this is alot easier then it looks. im not saying its easy but it is alot easier then it looks and sounds. this does have alot more theory

  • black bird isnt a shit song but yeah this song is soo unique and complex. its just insanely inhumane lol

  • Wow! Simply amazing.

Is this the Robert Taylor of Taylor guitars?

  • I doubt it.

  • Definitely not

  • fucking ridiculous! ridiculously awesome!

  • What I would give for these skills. *sigh* practice, practice, practice....damn open tunings will be the death of me.

  • I wish there were any tablature or any notation of this song (especcialy the first part)on the market! I really want to play this piece on my exam, and it is nearly impossible to take it by ear! Anyone?!

  • that last comment is supposed to say no word of a lie, robby is my brother he is an amzing guitarist

  • you dont even know

  • dont know wat?

  • how good he is

  • of a lie this dude is my brother watch my one man band video its also him

  • sounds like a harmonic minor composition dam thats impressive! it acctually sounds awesome

  • Love the second and the third part..

  • kick ass ! 5 stars

  • First part reminds me of jewish folk music.

  • This guy is awesome. He uses soem wild voicings.

  • Gorthon is my favorite.

  • WOW, omg. Superb.

  • Why is it that this only has 48k views? and i have never heard him b4 now? this guy is amazing pretty much the best all round player ive seen here on youtube, well for me anyways this is MUSIC.

  • how the hell does he make this little 'ching' noise at the beginning 0:06 ? amazing tune, pro artist

  • Wow, I've never noticed that! It might just be a "happy mistake".

  • artificial harmonics

  • It's just his fingers slightly skimming the string.

  • yes, it's his fingers. Guess it wasn't on purpose ^^.

  • woo love this guy! hes from the same city as me and he sells me cheap strings! gotta love it haha

  • i love it how he has parts to his song. truly is like telling a story. i've never seen anything like. absolutely amazing!!!!

  • Oh man the visuals I get when placing the title of the song with the music are definitely wacky

  • You took the words out of my mouth dude! I see some F'd up manic circus scene with strange creatures that don't even exist! Any song that puts off that vibe is worthy of respect even if you hate it! However I F'n luv it!!!!

  • what happened from 3:12 - end? How did he do that? What... How... Wow.

  • Love this song, so fascinating and weird, love it!^^

  • what a good story :D

  • wow one of candyrats finest...

  • The worst part of the song is the end. (:

  • he needs to compete at winfield

  • i like the parts 0.00-3.53...definately my favorites out of this song :P

  • haha

  • U R AMAZING. seriously...

  • he works at the walters music here in London, i see him all the time. he's one of the only cool guys who works at that place lol.

  • He is by far my favor player at candyrat!!!

Super Good. I have his cd :)

  • muhahahah

  • fuck yeah

  • yessur....sounds wonderfully evil. Great song!!

  • Merry Christmas

  • I can't tell you how refreshing it is to hear a original fingerstyle guitarist who is not regurgitating a bag of Michael Hedges' riffs. Excellent Mr. Taylor. Keep composing!

  • Amen!

  • spider fingers

  • to go with the spider web he has spun all over the back wall!

  • that fucking roll at 3:20!!! holy shitty fucker!!

  • it doesnt make sense to my brain either

  • my brain was going into fuckin convulsions soon as i heard it lol just like D: that just fucks with your brain lol

  • sweet jesus.. the whole thing is beyond me, but the last 45 seconds are incomprehensable. love it

  • First section: DGDGBbD

Second & Third section: DADFCE (capo at 4th fret)

    Truly amazing stuff...

  • did you just listen to it by ear, dam good job

  • Actually, I'll admit that I got it off the liner notes of the album. :p

  • quick question hows the album, and would you mind telling me the tuning for riely beans in private message, i can trade you a tab if u like

  • ECBGBE?

  • Well, I'm moist.

  • Does anybody have the guts to guess what tuning this is? Sorta hard to tell.

  • So it's in two parts? Cool.

An odd song. Gets me thinking of pirates drinking.

  • a wise man or woman said to me one day that part one reminds him or her of a load of russians drinking vodka round a table and damn he or she was right

  • i thought of 'Fiddler on the Roof'.

  • Played with the utmost precision. I hope I can be so technically proficient someday.

  • very crisp, clean, and precise. nice all around.

  • Damn. I wish I had enough money to afford all these CD's that candyrat puts out.

  • I hear ya man.

  • Whoa, this dude is original

  • this is absolutely amazing

  • this is just soo f#cking asewome!`it`s so original youre the man!

  • what a nice sounding guitar to boot!

  • you are an awsome guitarist, impecable skill, although i hate to say im not a fan of your chosen genre or style, sry, but im sure u know u are awsome.

  • amazing

  • sounds like it would fit well in the movie snatch..."do you like dags??"

  • to me, this song sounds like it has some jewish influence in it.

  • robert is the man! i just bought your cd online!

  • this is wacky. 5/5

  • im buying this album!

  • i feel like im at a damn bar mitzvah when i listen to this...lol

  • You rock the end is so fast!

  • great u play the guitar so smoth

  • the ending was amaising!!!fyi im glenns son

  • how do you do that

  • its funny, the musical composure of this song is set to be very choppy and when looking at his hands, they are more smooth and easily transitioning than anything I have seen, it doesnt look he is putting any effort into it....thats amazing

  • holy crap thats good

  • omfg the ending that was fast!

he is faster than those metal guys who only think about speed!

  • Wh-what just happened!?!? That was amazing! *throws guitar away*

  • Raziel555666

totally agree. i've seen and heard a lot, but this......wow

  • If you would, guys at Candyrat, I wonder if you would try and convince Robert to put his tunings and tabs on your site like Andy McKee has. It's the gypsy picking I like from Robert.

  • Yes! Even if just this song was tabbed, it would mean a lot to me.

By the way, Robert, you are one of the most original and creative guitarists I've ever heard.

  • Wow i like the ending hes crazyy good!

  • I want his right hand... The left would be good too...

  • I can't help but smile when I hear this. I think of Loony Tunes muchly. I dig it!

  • Beautifully named for the tune

  • yeah, the end is nuts!!

  • OMFG... i think i died at the end... or traveled in time... Fast.

  • wohoooo, freakyyy!

    i love it :>

  • Paddy, I would have to completely agree with that comment... Pure genius.

  • a killer song!!woooohhhahhh!!

  • you are one of, if not, the best musical composer i have ever heard. the emotions you channel through your songs, are so intricate and unique.

  • i think chopins got me dude...

  • hey rob do you have it tabbed out yet? cause ive learnt like half of it by ear but i just cant figure out some parts

  • makes me think of a bunch of russians drinkin vodka and dancin like nutters....dont ask me why, great stuff though

  • Hahaha, cool comment : D

  • Part three just blew my MIND!!!! Actually the whole song did! The last bit just made me shit my pants!
