This concrete surface will peel or spall because of how wet the top is when finishing.Probably poured with way to much slump. Those are mag floats mostly, not steel trowels.Look like amateurs to me.
@deuceman724 , not sure why you & lot of others have such an obsession with slump & its effect on finishing. different slumps required slightly different approaches & of course different timing but almost identical finishes can be achieved. as for slump determining eventual compressive strength which is another fav of commentors, the building code of australia has recently revised its required min slump from 80mm to 100mm (bring on the aussie bashin!...or will it be the suits that cop it?)
shaneinpoco, peculiar is your comment. its beginning to happen in most work areas, no short sleeve shirts, no short shorts, hi viz all over, person in suit will create power, then abuse power,...how would man in suit like it if he only had to write with a pot and quill ? only using one page a day to write on.
hey mate Ive worked for a long time in oz and nz in the concrete industry, from my experiance that tool is a stick trowel and a fresno is larger and has a lock knukle on it but I only ever used them in oz. We dont usually touch concrete with steel until the bleed water is gone and its ready for a stick but in oz we would fresno it straight after it was bull floated... good onyas, no matter how you do it shes damn hard work
@wiggarigga A walking trowel is what we call here in the states a "Whip" not a fresno! A whip is used like a hand trowel, except on a pole. A fresno is a steel bullfloat, working the same principle as a mag bullfloat. A walking trowel is for sealing edges when standin parallel to the edges. Watch him use it! its not a Fresno.
@mlbirdinground Dude I am from the states. And a fresno is not a steel bullfloat. A fresno is just like a finishing trowel except on poles to cover large areas.
@wiggarigga ROFL.....The Fresno is perpendicular to the poles correct? Whereas the Walking trowel in in-line with the pole. This guy is NOT using a FRESNO!!!!!
