@bitommy2112 UNBELIEVEABLE FRICKIN UNBELIEVEABLE! What an ignorant moron. Anyone who will call this rock icon and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer someone who sucks is just plain either stupid or ignorant. Go back and continue to listen to Justin Bieber. Because you have ZERO CLUE on what a great artist is. This cover of a little know two hit wonder Gary Wright. Is ten times better that Gary's original version. The original does not even come close on this cover. This one flat ass rocks. No doubt.
@ieetemos4breakfast This clip is actually from an old 1990 concert video that is only available on VHS. There is a live cd from that same show but it didn't include this song. I loved this song so much that I went out of my way to record it from VHS to minidisc. But nowadays, it's much easier to grab audio from video clips. Just look online for a YouTube to MP3 Converter & that should do the trick.
Yep, comments concerning "Funk" aside ( Joe exudes it, everytime he sings) I was thinking of tune earlier & watched Gary Wright's original......KILLER TUNE & SAME GOES FOR JOE'S COVER. He ROCKS IT OUT! Covers are like opinions....l.o.l. & did someone ACTUALLY THINK THAT was S.R.V.? "Hilarious", yet "sad, truly sad".....Thanks for the Post..Much appreciated!
@stonycurtis101 - I actually kind of liked Joan ... until I heard that. I guess the ultimate goal is to reduce every song to a generic, drum-machine back-beat. Sad, truly sad.
@mootbooxle Yup, not SRV, who of course passed away two years prior to this concert. Stevie Ray always played a Fender Strat, had completely different stylings, was not very showy on stage, and was about 90 lbs dripping wet. But this guy is hilarious in his attempt to be a SRV knock-off.
NO 1 but Joe Cocker can remake this song & make it sound SO FRICKIN' GOOD! God Bless YOU Joe! Rock on!

@ieetemos4breakfast The DVD is The Best of Joe Cocker Live. The concert was in Dortmund, Germany in 1992. It is fantastic all the way through!

Errrr....this is good in its own way, and normally I dig Joe, but this arrangement sucked all the Funk right out of the song.
mootbooxle 1 year ago
He sings it very well...but the tempo is way too fast and the guitars suck. I'd rather hear the original with the analogue synth.
