In my opininon it seems like they are evolving more to the band they want to be....maybe quite like blink 182 ....First at that point they could do what they wanted...of course i love all albums both blink and bloc party....

imo (and this will probably be contraversal) the albums have got progressively better. they are evolving more and more, silent alarm was great but in hindsight its a very "typical indie" affair. fast paced guitars, catchy rifs, slow paced easy to listen to songs, as i said this is only my opinion. i feel since silent alarm they have become more and more alternative and i just find that more interesting.

@RecoElgred I agree that silent alarm, as an album, is their best work, but Intimacy and A Weekend In The City both have a few absolute gems that are better single songs than most of the single songs on Silent Alarm. Uniform from AWITS, for example, and this one. Also, Ion Square, off Intimacy. Though Silent Alarm does have Plans and So Here We Are, probably two of their most underrated tunes...

I know what you mean. In my opinion, 'Silent Alarm''s the band's best effort though. Not to say everything after was bad, they were good too but Silent Alarm was a FEAT and quite hard to top
