Also, sure the radiation emitted from the scanner is less (if not equal to) a few minutes of high-alt. flight. The difference is that in-flight, it is residual radiation that is spread throughout the cabin. The scanners emit direct to the skin surface.

@Achack Wrong! It's not just government, it's business. They don't give a crap about out "security". Michael Chertoff is CEO of the company that makes these backscatters, and he has the government in the palm of his money grubbing hand when it comes to this issue.
Unlike the marines, the TSA are not needed and we would be better off without them if we are ever going to truly show that as a nation, we fear no terrorist. Also the marines strike fear into terrorists, the TSA strike fear into us.

Stores don't pay for security cameras because they want to catch people stealing, they want to prevent them from stealing in the first place. I am somewhat peeved at allowing some of these slobs the ability to invade people. Submit to the full body scan to show in detail your genitals or worse, pay the price to do a pat down that will make an example of you. Since she flies frequently, my girlfriend has had a couple of times of agents hitting on her. I could only imagine one of these slobs checking her out on camera since images can be saved.
All in the name of security? Use explosive sniffers or dogs instead of these procedures.

I absolutely disagree with any one trying to blame the TSA. The enhanced security is meant to protect us. Subsequent to 9/11 we have seen the shoe and underwear bomber. These individuals will stop at nothing. If you think that the threat is only from the Muslim radicals and as such only people looking like muslims should be searched, YOU are wrong. 9/11 has given ideas not only to foreign terrorist, but also to like of Oklahoma bomber. PLEASE RETHINK about your actions and consider others safety

Also you uneducated fucks. The radiation emitted from the scanners is less than a few minutes of high altitude flight. Something you are also submitting yourself too after you board the plane... Just know i wouldn't shed a tear for you if you jumped on a "less secure" plane and got your ass blown up into a building or were slaughtered at the hands of a terrorist. If you got a problem with the security measures... Man up and fight for those rights by defending America. Or be blind n bitch.

Also, sure the radiation emitted from the scanner is less (if not equal to) a few minutes of high-alt. flight. The difference is that in-flight, it is residual radiation that is spread throughout the cabin. The scanners emit direct to the skin surface.
