i would love to get this bike .. but the stigma of being a 'girl's bike' ... has me staying away! .. seriously, i only see girls or short, svelt, lispy dudes riding this puppies. ...
maybe, i'll stick with getting a Can-Am Spyder... that's a reall head-turner!
@torontothegood all i'm saying is don't be hatin' on 696 riders. bikers have enough problems on the road as it is. don't be putting down other people's rides. I'd rather ride a girl's bike than no bike at all. Either way, I'd make that shit look GOOD. :) ride safe
im getting one next summer this will be my first street bike ever cant wait hell yeah!! next summer here i come lol just hope some of my buddies gets a bike
@akassassin1982 I also am hoping to get a bike by next summer. I am worried I am too short but I guess we will see what my options are when I go shopping. i really would like the 696 though
@Palmar3s no not really.... the 1098 is one there top end street bikes and the monster is more for the practical ride. basically one is for speed and the other is for enjoying ride.
@Xx69roadrunnerxX actually lamborghini's are made in germany :) they are built by audi now, and thats why they are actually everyday drivable and not too insane anymore! lol
Lamborghinis are made in Sant'Agata Bolognese. Completely built there. The only thing made elsewhere are some of the electronics are made by Bosh, the some of the rims are made in the US.
Lamborghini and Audi share some of the technology for the V10 engines, that are different.
The V12 fitted in the Murcielago is an italian only project built in Italy.
All in all you are not well informed. The fact that Audi owns Lamborghini doesn't mean that they make the cars in Germany.
Ducati Monster is one of my all time favorites, I want to buy one but Im a new rider and I don't want to drop it. When I master my craft better believe this and the Triumph tripple r will be in my garage.
If I see one more ad for "Zoosk" on youtube I'm gonna flip a shit. Every single video I see a little zoosk thing pops up and its so retarded. Why the fuck do they have it there?
@Trashjack101 I am 5'10" and 170 and it feels fine. I sat on an 1100 and I think that I like the overall height to the ground better but I think the riding position is the same
Haha,Me too man, I'm saving up so by the time I'm old enough to ride one I can get my own =D I'm looking at the Ducati Monster because it's one of the inexpensive and bet performanced bike out there
God the Italians make great machines! Motorcycles: Ducati, Aprilia, MV Agusta, Moto Guzzi, etc. Cars: Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, De Tomaso, Pagani. Boats/Ships: Ferreti group yachts especially Riva. Italian machines have more passion than any Japanese, German, British or American machine could.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
hello...did you know that some of the cars that you mentioned arent italian animore?just for example lamborghini uses VW engines...pagani uses a lot of mercedes components and so on...
and for the motorcycles but in performance an 14000 japanese bike can beat an 30.000 italian bike...ies the do have more passion but not evreybody is rich an can afford them...PS most of the italians buy fiat lancia and alfa because they cant aford beter ones like german or american and not because of passion.
I totally get what you are saying sir, but when it comes down to it, the japanese bikes just don't have the same pedigree as the Ducati's, MV's, and Aprilia. I once again agree with you, you don't have to buy a 40 thousand dollar bike, but when it comes down to it, the Ducati Monster 696, actually costs less than say a Ninja ZX-6R, The Honda interceptor. When you ride a GSXR-R1000 down the road, who really cares, the bikes are everywhere. It`s like the difference between a BMW M3, and a S2000.
@Xx69roadrunnerxX - i agree 100%, its an art form for the italians . triumphs arent bad tho and you americans made muscle cars , like the 69 charger. but the italians are in a league of their own. post from australia.
@Xx69roadrunnerxX Somehow this passion is only for style. Germans, Japanese, British, Korean and Americans are more reliable. Italy has always put style over function. Lamborgini drivers before audi needed another person to help back up or park his car.
@Xx69roadrunnerxX I agree with you when you say that italians try to put passion in everithing they create. Not just in cars or boats, but in ordinary objects of everyday life as well. But in this case, the Monster (the original one) was designed by Miguel Galluzzi, argentinian. He now works for Aprillia, and has italian blood also.
Such a well spoken soul, well not really. v-rod and v-max are fast bikes there's no doubt, but not real good in the corners which was Jaymz's point. Grow up or come out from behind your screen.
a lot of bikes do not have fuel gauges. My ninja doesn't. I have to set the tripometer and it goes about 200 miles before I have to gas up. Other than that I can open the tank and look in to see if i'm SOL or not.
