  • More that one puppet looks like Bert with stuff on him

  • Why do I still know the words to this song?

  • The Teacher sounds like Bert

  • It's come to my attention that the original postman/fireman version of this song, as well as the pilot/nurse one were recently released on DVD. The problem is, it's an "Elmo's World". That's probably why they haven't been added to youtube yet.

  • @Garrettk41 You sure it's not maybe just a bonus feature? If it's only featured briefly, I can see that. I had no idea that one just came on DVD.

  • @wattamack4 Right. It is a bonus feature.

  • bob kindof looks and sings alot like neil sadaka....i never noticed it when i was little....gotta love bob!

  • @MegaEvalee Yup, I always thought so too :) In fact, I was hoping to find someone here with that same opinion and I found you! :)

  • One of the Best Sesame Street songs.

  • I have a good view of the intersection where I work and when I see people doing stupid or odd $hit, I sing this song!

  • Nice Short Clip

  • I'm looking for the postman one to.. How funny, I'm 37!!

  • Love this !!!

  • I want to see the one with the postman.

  • I sing this one to myself in my head when people on the streets of San Francisco are misbehaving en mass for some crazy coinsidential reason

  • Do they even have any songs on SS that are as memorable as this one today?

  • To all of the Sesame Street Fans from back in the day. Have you ever noticed that Bob and Luis actually looked alike?

  • I loved Bob the best on Seasame Street!

  • He never told them what time it was....

  • Bob was sexy back then

  • lol, I always listened to this and thought you don't necessarily meet all the people in your neighbourhood each day!

I mean, I live in the same neighbourhood as the U.K's tallest man, but I've only seen him about 3 times in 10 years!

  • I sing this to put my nephew to sleep

  • I still sing this song

  • When I go off to college, I want the Pumpkin teacher to be my teacher. There's something about his glasses that caught my eye. ^_^

  • Bob was actually a sex symbol in Japan

  • @hughesjr

I saw an anime once showing a horny Japanese housewife fantasizing about Bob while watching her kids watch Sesame Street. Then she starts pleasuring herself and her kids join in. It's perverted but oh so fun.

  • it's weird to see a kermit-shaped and colored muppet without it being kermit!

  • lol my friend EMILIO sings this at school! XD

  • I was humming this song walking down the hall at my office. I don't know why. :) It's just so nice to be able to come to YouTube and *poof* the memories are all at your fingertips! :)

  • MY GOD, could you imagine this being the only entertainment available for your child today? I think the first thing I would to tell my son would be something like, "Son, if a man who looks like this offers you candy, or starts singing like this to you, PUNCH or KICK HIM IN THE NUTS AS HARD AS YOU CAN, AND RUN AWAY!" My how times have changed...

  • What an awesome gentleman. I have had the pleasure of meeting him on a couple of occasions and he is one of the nicest people on earth.

  • Why does Bob completely ignore the teacher's request for time? Then he makes them more late by playing guessing games!

  • MY FAVE THE FIRST SONG IVE LEARNED

  • My first was: "Which one of these things, is not like the other...."

  • Is Bob still on SS?

  • @Fartingbellybutton as far as I know he comes and goes on the show still. When they have lines for him, he's there.

  • is there any way i can download this song to my computer? I need it for my K class but cant go to utube at school.

  • So this is where the village people originated from...

  • YAY I WUVS DIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I used to get Bob mixed up with Neil Sedaka they sound alike

  • HA! Now that you mention it...they DO sound alike! Too funny! You have a good ear ;-D

  • OMG! The brown teacher guy looks like my LD resource teacher, Mr. Richmond. If you're wondering what LD stands for it's learning disabilities and resource at my school is kind of like study hall for special ed students. I'm a junior in high school.

  • I saw Bob on boxing day when he was on the Sesame Street folt in the tournment of Roses Parade!!!!

  • I would totally do Bob in this video.

Too bad he's an old man now :(

  • I've loved this song since my childhood, but Savemart royally f-ed it up to a mindnumbing degree, with their embarrasing to watch commercial! The first time I saw that s-----y ad, It started out a little embarrasing, getting worse and worse, until its worst point, when that woman too loudly(for my taste)belted out the song's final words, widely gesturing with her hands. She was either on something,or completely and incurably insane!

  • Well, that's the way it appears to me!

  • OMG! ITS BOB! :)

  • This video doesn't seem to be working i've tried various times within the past 2 days to watch it, but it just doesn't seem to be working.

  • nvm mr.wattamack it works now at long last :)

  • I'm impressed he's been on the show since the beginning, and a lotta the people have been on the show for 20-30 years or so. You'd think they'd wanna move on to other stuff.

  • LORD Bob was young!

  • He Sings Like Regis Philbin.

  • Wow Bob's hair was darker back then

  • I loved watching these skits as a kid & learning about different occupations.

  • I loved this song.

  • This brings me back... check out Bob's sideburns! I loved this show...

  • More brilliance from classic Sesame Street. It is sad to realize that this song is better than most of the dreck that is coming out today on the radio....lol!!

  • OMFG I LOVETHIS IM IN LOV

  • Its sad lol BUT I still sing this song! :)))

  • @KaiseRex42 That's not sad. This is a badass song

  • Who could forget this? One of the classic songs from the show. Let's have as many more versions of this song up here as possible.

I'm still waiting for this song to be uploaded in fast mode. And who voices the female teacher?

  • Jerry Nelson. And I have been pretty busy but I can try speeding it up by tommorow cause I'm on vacation.

  • Terrific. Thanks.

  • I'm gonna have to recapture the file fisrt though cause I lost the file.

  • No hurry.

  • Damn now I know where this song came from. This artist did this song and he called it who are the bitches in your neighborhood and his last line was their the hoochies that you meet when they hoing on the street their the hoochies that you meet each day. Damn they took that from seseme street?

  • Very likely. By the way, it's spelled "Sesame Street".

  • he was almost sort of cute here haha!

  • Only almost sort of? :O)

  • Which episode is "Who Are the People in Your Neighborhood" started in Sesame Street?

    Artist: Jeffrey Moss

(c)1970 Jeff Moss & CTW Music, Inc.

  • Posed against a background:

    - Blue (1963-1969)

    - Orange (1971)

    - Blue-Purple (1988)

    - Outside (1988)

  • I believe it was the twenty-third episode of the first season, and it concerned the postman and the fireman. That's the one generally hear on the sound recordings, which makes me want to see it up here all the more. So, if anyone has it...

  • Look at how young Bob was!!
