Joe Mestas, American citizen living in South Ossetia, who witnessed everything that happening in the region, talked to RT and blamed U.S. and Georgian leaders for the outbreak of violence.
I'm not sure if they're any prospective oil deposits in this region? This might interest the West...other than that, it just makes for good propaganda against RF!
How could Georgia not have seen this coming? It's kind of like Mexico trying to invade Los Angeles...utter madness!
They and the Russian TV companies are the only ones in SO, you may trust me here. It is indeed the crime against humanity, Karadjich is a baby compared to Saakashvili.
All last night in South Ossetia there was a fight for, dominating above the capital Tshinvali, Prisski heights. The Georgian military divisions have continued artillery bombardment of Tshinvali and nearby villages. The city is completely destroyed. The peace inhabitants who have remained in city are hidden in cellars. They are in an awful moral and physical condition. There are still many women and children who is in dare need of being evacuated.
I'm sorry for all these comments, but am very concerned. Last, I just want to say I'm looking at this situation from a very conservative viewpoint. If Georgia is the real culprit of an unprovoked attack on innocent Russian protestors in S.O., as it does sort of seem right now, Georgia (and maybe we, for our arms and training) owe S.O. reparations. That's IF Georgia is the guilty party, otherwise Russia owes reparations saying if this possibly goes to the International Court(?).
"So do not blame Georgians."-No, we can't put blame on the people, the citizens of Georgia, but neither the Russian people. As you explained the history, that might be the case. At this point it really just seems the Georgian president 'looked before he leapt' and may have overstepped his boundaries with this South Ossetia massacre, unless if it indeed really was a case of provocation by S.O. authorities, then Russia is at fault. I'm never sure with Russian govt.--very ambivalent about them.
"Rice is a stupid fucking monkey, how did she get that job, only a fucking idiot like Bush would give it to her."-Agreed, but it's important to remember that Bush is a ***-damn traitor (along with his neocon gang)and the true enemy to the United States and the world, and with hope he will be punished for it--maybe at least with life in federal prison.
"god damn I'm so sick of our north american corporate media propoganda"-You and me both.
Here how story goes. Some hundred years ago Georgian ruler at the time allowed Osetins to live in the Georgian land on a territory of contemporary Osetia on a condition that they will never separate the land. For hudreds of years it was how it was. Then around 1990 Osetins decided to become independent and thus take away the land that belongs to Georgia. Of course Georgians got mad at Osetins for breaking the promise and for taking their land and started fighting. So do not blame Georgians.
"Europe and civilized world wake up! Here is an other genocide backed by the US."-the US government, not the people they are supposed to represent, but do not! I haven't read if they endorsed Georgia's attack, but if they did, I among many will demand impeachment of Bush and his gang of thugs (actually I already do). First Iraq...
"Support the Russians that they stop all that mess as sooner the better."-Agreed.
"Take the war criminals to the international court"-Agreed 100%.
...and it looks to me to be an illegal and immoral attack on South Ossetia. I realize that Georgia is an "ally" who who wants to eventually join NATO (which should be up to them), but S.O. wanted independence from Georgia in which the latter doesn't/didn't seem cooperative. I'm not against either Russia or Georgia as countries, and while still ambivalent on Russia's desires, the latter DID have the right to defend South Ossetians in this case-just as the US would defend Canada or Mexico.
Here's a snippet from todays's MSNBC news: "South Ossetia longed to be incorporated into Russia, whose province of North Ossetia contains their ethnic brethren. Georgia firmly rejected the prospect: Ceding the territory would bring Russia within 50 miles of the Georgian capital."
At first I didn't know what to believe RT or other medias yesterday. I'm still just trying to scratch the surface, but it does seem to look like Georgia made the first move...
This news program is beautiful Russian propaganda. Look at those pictures of the "humanitiarian aid". One guy in a hospital bed...wow. Oh the humanity of the Russian forces. They set up one hospital which is empty and there is supposedly 30,000 refugees ??
I THINK SHAKESHVELLI is a MAD fellow. If im the leader of Georgia, i wud first develop the economy with USA and Russian friendly relationship.Once georgia is rich then Abhazians and osscentian more likely to join the georgia becos it becom inevitable. But this MAD fellow shakeshvelli sending troops to Ossentia and expecting US aid/ world war III? Shakeshvell: its not enuf to know english...use your fucking brain ! NOW PLS PAY FOR YOUR ADVENTURE ! 2500 DEAD! WATA SON OF A GUN.
you know whats funny-georgia destroyed like 60 russian tanks shot down 6 russian planes-not bad for a tiny country-if russia were to get into a scuffle with the u.s they would get thier asses whooped-if georgia can do that in one day just think what the usa can do-we should help the georgians
R U SERIOUS? USA Vs Russia? may be you shud read more abt Atomic bombs, hydrogen bombs and end of the world etc. Even if America win n world survives, America will be severely weakened and China will rise more speedily to dominate the world. It will be another rise and quick fall of an (america)empire.
I cant believe Georgia started this, it would be madness. This is just your modern "democratic" Russia being the aggressor just like its been for the past 50-60 years. US troops need to land ASAP. 3 armored divisions and 6 infantry divisions should do it.

wake up Neo. U.S. involving Russia into this conflict.
True, yeah this is a total shock, I was just watching that myself I can't believe Edwards lied and did that to his wife battling cancer that was messed up. The video's you see before he seemed like a really good guy so it's very shocking, it looked like a good family with good values.
Really don't ever hear much about Russia or things going on over there very often unless it's about Putin travelling somewhere to make special visits, but that's pretty normal standard political coverage.
For one, I really don't know any Americans that saw this coming, I mean something bad happening near Russia now???, What's going on over there? I think most everybody was thinking about other things.
The Olympics, the elections, food, fuel and economy issue's, etc.
Can't Putin and Bush just sit and watch the Olympic games without worrying about this?
Tourists were warned not to go there at this point and it's an unknown situation so that's probably one reason reporters aren't there.
2KnightChatX Guess Bush can, his peopole have not been masscared. It's a shame that Georgia began assoult at the beginning of the olympic games, but I think that the time was chosen for some purpose, For example - in those 4 hours while BBC and CNN showed Olympic games they prepared false videos. And thus in their news war has began with "russian invasion" instead of georgian bombardments. This all is a big provocation for Russia.
Not recently, but in the pre-war times most everyone was in the same boat and most secret allies that worked on projects together in other countries, especially during the time Unit 731 existed because that affected chinese, russian, early korean, us, and austrailians the most.
One such project named "Avrocar" was US/Canadian/Russian/Chinese project that moved from the United States to Canada, until moving to New Zealand, Phillipines, and Ireland.
Also Georgia was declared as a freedom loving country/society, even though the past is shaky, the current events makes little sense.
But due to what people on both sides described, I wouldn't doubt if somebody painted a plane to look russian and started a few bombing runs to start a greater battle between the US and Russia to detract from the battles going elsewhere to buy some time for something else.
Either way, even if it's hard, keeping a clear mind might help make rational descisions.
2yaaqshiidman If there will be a wa between USA and Russia the whole world will be destroyed, no matter who wins. So prey that this war will never begin.
Georgia rolled their tanks in vicinity of South Ossetia and began rocket barrage against the capital killing many civilians women and children. There were also Russian citizens and peacekeeping troops who were also hit. This was a surprise attack coordinated by Georgia against a much smaller country then itself. But Russia stepped in and now Georgia is getting a taste of its own medicine. In response Russia knocked out many Georgian tanks, 2 airfields and a naval dock. Russia is defending SO.
Ossetia is a part of Georgia and it's our business. But what a fuck Russian solders are doing there with their tanks? In past sanctuaries before soviet fucking union become. we were living with Ossetians peacefully, so we don't need your help
2avimoubari Ossetia is independant country. There was a referendum in 2006 where TWICE Ossetia voted 97% for independence from Georgia.
So it's you are invading another country and already killed 1600 civillians. I could understand if you just taken control of city and put there your authorities, if you would fight with their army, but just killing innocent civillians... That's why peacekeepers there.
Why you believe so easily that we are killing innocent people and peacekeepers? and Russians are so peaceful that they are bombing Georgian cities becouse of helping poor Ossetians? Ossetia isn't independent country and this referendum doesn't mean anything because we have 200 000 refuges from there. So without them referendum doesn't have any sence.
2avimoubari You see, you are already brainwashed enough so you easily believe that Russia is an engry bear, wich only thinks of conquering the world. Your corrupted mass-media have done their work and now you see only one side of the conflict.
avimoubary Russia is not bombing and killing civilians. There are latest videos and pictures in Gori showing it as in tact as before its just a ghost town with ironically Stalin's statue towering to this day. Why do you believe this propaganda when the Georgian people themselves have already said that most of media reports are false even a 12 year old girl told the truth to Fox and was cut off the air. Truth is out but people don't want to hear it. Georgia did commit murder and now they must pay
Bush himself is a puppet to the NWO/illuminati has ordered his puppet Georgian President to launch the attack first against south ossetia that killed over 1500 civilians on a span of hours, as I'm typing the death toll is reaching 2000 civilians killed in 2 days. Georgia provoked the conflict. And now you see this puppet Bush is demanding ceasefire I know he doesn't mean that I mean he wanted this conflict didn't he? American military advisers were in Georgia a few days ago when the war started.
USA has spent hundrends if millions of dollars in tarining and arming Georgian military. the defence missileswas a core US foriegn policy. The USA has caused this and now they are hiding like the bastards they are. They only get involved and illegaly invade countries when the countries are 100% defenceless,,,,,,as we all know
The US pulled the troops out, this battle has nothing to do with US and dragging the US into a battle when it's focused on other things doesn't make logical sense. The US trained troops their because Georgia was showing signs of positive democracy as an ally and seemed to want NATO participation with the global community.
The rest isn't clear.
Russia, China, and US are friends anyways so it makes no sense but there's alot of confusion right now.
tell the world we want peace n seasefire while u keep attackingn killing the innocent too late now we know u r lies how many israelisamerians in georgis steering up trouble now?
It is indeed a strange turn of events when you can trust a Russian news service and Western media serices are turned into propoganda machines. I am no rascist, but it should be plain to all that Rothschilds and Israel are the enemy of humanity. Israel has over 1,000 military personell and advisors in Georgia instigating this war, while they instigate another war in Iran with the other hand
nice critical thinking skills..wish the propoganda machine would quit hurling forward..now poland supports georgia..i guess they want to be like the west, thinking maybe we're still free and have a bill of rights left, too bad the zion owned media failed to inform the rest of america their rights have been stripped by BUSHS phony oil war on terror, to defend from AL FAKE=QUEDA, not a shred of humility in that SKULL and BONES man
Handle your business Russia. Slap that bitch Georgia back to the stone age! This little bitch country needs to know it's place in the world! Under Russian Feet groveling for mercy!
First of all, it is so intersting that Russia is covering up shooting civilians thourout Georgia. Secondly, Russia is not the country to support someone's suvergnity, what the country did against Finland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, etc. is doing the same thing. Its political culture is nothing else that annexing others. They just brainwash ordinary Russians and make believe that Georgians are vempires. Russia will pay for that.
I QUESS THE NEXT THING WE BE HEARING FROM U IS the usa/israel stand for PEACE! how many mercenaries in georgia trying to insticate the war to divert Russian power away from iran for the impending UNPROVOKED attack on iran the world is informed now u r lies are know for that just that when will we can expect israel/usa attacxk very soon am sure by the look of things
Right! Russia loves only terrorists and war like Iran, murderor Hussein, etc. Someday Russia pays for its mistakes if it did not slow down with peacefull countries.
I am sorry but invading countries on the false pretexts and then torturing, kidnapping, raping and killing civilians doesn't seem too PEACEFULL to me!!!
Russia Today is pure propaganda. It is selling a war to the Russian people and bringing about a tragedy. It is seeking to justify revenge attacks on Georgian civilians. It has offered no proof of genocide or atrocities and has failed to mention attacks by Russian aircraft inside Georgia. Much of their coverage is laughable hearsay without any footage or proof to back it up. Shame on them.
How very cleverly scum you copy and past the same comment over and over. There is no proof of genocide there has been since 1992 when Georgia first started try to ethically clense my people. You disgust me and support genocide of my people under Georgian regime. God bless Russia defender of my people. We will be free and united again North and south united.
Hackney08001: "...It is seeking to justify revenge attacks on Georgian civilians..." Since you mention revenge attacks on civilians, you admit Georgians already killed civilians, otherwise you wouldn't use word "revenge". And yes, Russia will attack inside Georgia in order to prevent any future attempts of Georgia to kill civilians in South Ossetia.
it's amazing that Russia killed thousands of civilians during their attacks of chechnya without any mercy and now protest when Georgia only wants their province back just like Russia didn't allowed chechnya to seperate.........
I rly hope nobody will make quick decisions anymore. Russia alrdy striked strategic points in Georgia to stop the agress against Osetia. Now it's time to find out all the truth not to start another war.

Russiatoday is a dreadful propaganda channel.
Russia's crimes are condemned here in Italy and throughout the civilised world.
Putin is a gangster.

ShiekYerbooty 3 years ago
nice critical thinking skills..wish the propoganda machine would quit hurling forward..now poland supports georgia..i guess they want to be like the west, thinking maybe we're still free and have a bill of rights left, too bad the zion owned media failed to inform the rest of america their rights have been stripped by BUSHS phony oil war on terror, to defend from AL FAKE=QUEDA, not a shred of humility in that SKULL and BONES man

Handle your business Russia. Slap that bitch Georgia back to the stone age! This little bitch country needs to know it's place in the world! Under Russian Feet groveling for mercy!
LOJANOS 3 years ago

Hackney08001 3 years ago
How very cleverly scum you copy and past the same comment over and over. There is no proof of genocide there has been since 1992 when Georgia first started try to ethically clense my people. You disgust me and support genocide of my people under Georgian regime. God bless Russia defender of my people. We will be free and united again North and south united.
cortezawwris 3 years ago 3
Hackney08001: "...It is seeking to justify revenge attacks on Georgian civilians..." Since you mention revenge attacks on civilians, you admit Georgians already killed civilians, otherwise you wouldn't use word "revenge". And yes, Russia will attack inside Georgia in order to prevent any future attempts of Georgia to kill civilians in South Ossetia.

shut yr dirty mouth up plz. Georgians are genocidical killers.
mikkitiny 3 years ago 2
it's amazing that Russia killed thousands of civilians during their attacks of chechnya without any mercy and now protest when Georgia only wants their province back just like Russia didn't allowed chechnya to seperate.........
reuven2007 3 years ago
Informational war has reached the top.
I rly hope nobody will make quick decisions anymore. Russia alrdy striked strategic points in Georgia to stop the agress against Osetia. Now it's time to find out all the truth not to start another war.
