Ipod touch 3rd Gen. Downgrade 3.1.3 to 3.1.2

my iTouch wuz jailbroken but wen i downloaded winterboard i had to jailbreak it again then the new version of itunes came out and i couldent start my iTouch so i had to continue my life with a iTouch that will be stuch in 3.1.3 forever or maybe 3.1.4 if they make it and higher if they make it

what if you just restore your ipod without all this shit... will it downgrade itself back to 3.1.2??? since its the factory stteings it came with....

@ThatsPhuckedUp13 yea maybe that works my 3g ipod came in the 3.1.2 firmware maybe if i restore it will get back to 3.1.2 but i dont realy know

The reason is because itunes connects to apple servers to check if your firmware is legit. They not only let you restore with 3.1.3 firmware, and they won't let you downgrade. Apparently, you can bypass this by tricking itunes into connecting to cydia instead of apple. You do this by editing your HOSTS file in system32. This worked for some people, but for the most of us, we're stuck for now.
