"Made enough money to buy Miami, but I pissed away so fast!" love me some freaking Buffet! Had the pleasure of seeing him 6 times & meeting him twice.
Its fitting that the best concert that JB ever did was in South Florida 20 something years ago....i love it how he gives concerts up north and everyone says how great he is...but no one really knows how to enjoy his music unitll you live in the Florida Keys like me....... at MM103 in Key largo....
Thank you for posting all the songs from this concert. Looks like an awesome show. No one cheers me up like Jimmy, he makes me feel like nothing is as bad as it seems, there's always hope, and there's always a smile to be found somewhere. Is this concert on DVD? I'd love to hear it on my surround sound.
He did a concert at Auburn University back around 1980 and the 3rd encore was just Jimmy, a bottle of beer, and an acoustical guitar. What a show! I think i have seen him at least a dozen times and I have never been disappointed. But man is he good alone with just a guitar.
beb319....I was at this show at the Miamarina....totally wasted....but missed the show at the baseball stadium....saw Fleetwood Mac there in '75 on the Rumours tour and saw Bo Jackson there with the Royals against the Orioles in spring training. The stadium is gone now but I hope we save Miamarina. It took a hit with Hurricane Andrew.
I'm a fan of Jimmy, but a teen. I wish I could've been back in the 70s to see 'im. Need to go to a concert. My dad has his boat docked at a marina right around the corner of his beach house in N.Y.
Saw Jimmy and the Coral Reefers at Miami Baseball Stadium in 1976 I think it was. He opened for the Eagles as they were kicking off their Hotel California tour. Buffett blew the crowd away, we didn't think the Eagles could top him but they did. Best concert I have ever been to! Two great acts in one concert, musical talent and songwriting ability are a lost art today.
Ooops, got curious, just checked and the concert was on 7/2/77. Apparently, there were just a few dates in Jimmy's Changes in Latitudes tour where he opened for the Eagles. I can't believe I was so lucky to catch one of them!
Yes I am a pirate,200 years too late...dang....he paints the perfect picture in my mind...I love Jimmy.....no matter how life is treating me I listen to him and I have to smile.
I saw Buffett at the Miami Marine Ampitheater. We were on a boat on Biscayne Bay, it was his last encore, around midnight, back in 1984. As he closed, there were fireworks going off over the water, in front of a full moon.
Jim's songs lose a bit in concert, compared to the studio tracks, in my opinion. But this is surely his most hypnotic and wonderful song, and is voted his best on many of the (thousands) of fan sites :).
I saw Jimmy perform (one song) at Margaritaville in Key West. He came in, somebody saw him and they begged him to sing one song. He played his guitar and sang "Volcano" (with a little help from the audience). When he sang the last word, the volcano in the restaurant exploded confetti on everybody. Great time.
awesome!! One of my favorite Jimmy songs. My husband and I are headed to St. Louis this Thurs. 4/24 to see Jimmy and The Coral Reefers for the first time!! Can't wait!! He hasn't been to Kansas City for years and is finally coming back to St. Louis. We have our "parrotfanalia" ready to go!! We love Jimmy!!! One of my dreams is to see him perform in the Carribean or in Key West one day, what a party and truly fun experience that would be!
This is def one of my fav songs by God (aka Jimmy Buffett). I counted down for 140 days to his concert in Cinci on July 26th. I am so sad it's over I could almost cry. So, Jimmy, thank you for all the great music and memories. You are truly loved by many people.

Jimmy Buffett is sort of indefinable. He's not the best singer in the world, not the best guitar picker, although a pretty good songwriter.
What's the old expression, the whole is more than the sum total of the parts?
Whatever, he's great!

I think they are better live. He adds to them and you can hear an energy you can't record in a studio.
