Hunting and Fishing isnt an athletic sport, they are skill sports. Anyone who thinks hunting and fishing is easy and shouldnt be a sport has obviously never hunted. Hunting and fishing is alot harder and takes alot more practice than people give it credit for. Anyone who thinks its not a sport, and the animals are at the disadvantage then please try hunting and then explain to me how easy it is. Its not easy I've played every sport out there and none of them are as hard as hunting or fishing.

How is shooting a deer in the wild any different than raising a cow for slaughter? Same method same result, hunting is as old as time. Killing purely for trophies then you may have a point, but if you eat what you kill then what is the problem?

@kisskisskiss121212 no not usually here in Iowa you can't use rifles you can only use shotguns bows and muzzle loaders but yes muzzle loaders shoot at a long distance but there is a limit to how many hunters get a muzzle loader tag. And when using a shotgun your shot is rarely over 50 yards, and a bow usually less than 30.
@ndarkened1 have you tried to shoot 1. A moving target 2. the target is anywhere from 10 yrds to 1,500 yrds and still moving? Just because someone doesn't move or get hit doesn't mean it's not a sport. Darts is a sport and everyone would agree that it is, so is pool. they all do the same thing as the guy with the gun aim and accuracy. It takes just as much practice if not more to be able to shoot a gun accurately in general. So think before you decide to say what's a sport and what isn't.

@ganat8 in some schools I do agree that it isn't a sport. But if you ever watch the National Competitions, and see some of the things they do, you would know its more than that. I would have to say the stunting they do is really what makes it a sport. Our HS judges at competitions made us stop doing some of our stunts because they were considered college level and weren't allowed to be performed at High School competitions.
@ashleighjoy2007 My 4A HS has won state 5 years in a row in GA. Northgate hs, look it up. And yes i have seen some of their competitions and they last for 5 minutes then another teams goes. True, I cannot do the stunts nor would i ever try, but you can't be ignorant enough to say that women can play football or MMA on the same level as men. Cheerleaders are only for eye candy, that's it. The competitions were added so that they could feel empowered that they were like men.

Good speech. I read on another one of these VS video's that is similar that one guy said, "I wish my coach would have given me this speech," it all makes sense. I might be quoting cliche's here but "no matter how strong or good you are at something or any one thing, there's always somebody better & stronger," or "you just never know what's going to happen." But there is other "sports" wich have made it into the olympics (curling), so I might just have a broken definition of it ;)
When I mean sports, I mean a physical hard act that requires hard training, or we could just call monopoly a sport as well ;)

Good speech. I read on another one of these VS video's that is similar that one guy said, "I wish my coach would have given me this speech," it all makes sense. I might be quoting cliche's here but "no matter how strong or good you are at something or any one thing, there's always somebody better & stronger," or "you just never know what's going to happen." Therefore, you can go to into a game or event to win but doesn't mean you will!

K buddy u have never been hunting be for it not like that at all a true hunter well not shoot a deer over a 100yards and it take lots of time to get the big deer to come out because all elements are not in your favor deer are very smart and can smell and hear way better than we can u have to have grate skill to shoot a nice deer!
