  • these loudspeakers have an excellent sound

  • Mackie is not as good as it once was. I have a friend that rents out DJ gear and hes going from Mackie to QSC because of all the problems Mackie speakers are having. I hope they figure out the issues their powered speaker line is having and fix it fast.

  • I've been using JBL eon G2's (15 inch) for years , I like them a lot but the top end can run away with itself if you don't keep an ear on them.

I was gonna plum for Mackie srm450's at the time of buying the JBL's but I thought the JBL's sounded better.

Now I'm in the process of running two rigs and I've got hold of a pair of Mackie srm450 V2 speakers (new and at a fantastic price - £680).Can't wait to try them in a gig situation.

  • Mackie srm-450 speakers SUCK!

Even YORKVILLE is better.. don't believe me, put a pair of these Mackies side by side with a pair of Yorkville NX55P and you'll hear the difference.

This speaker cuts out when it gets warm, then you have to wait till it cools down. I've NEVER had that happen with Yorkville, JBL or other brands.

Give it a rest people, don't be a follower... use your own ears when looking for powered speakers and TRUST YOUR EARS.

    MACKIE = CRAPPY!!!!

  • @DJCasanovaToronto You had a bad experience with Mackie but overall the brand is awesome. I've heard a pair of those at a bar and they sound WAY better than any Yorkville, JBL or QSC I've heard in my life. Even better than the K12's.

  • This is a candy ass speaker QSC is way better. This isn't the old Mackie you used to know.

  • i bet it sound just the same!

  • Does anyone know???? I am debating among 5 kinds of 15" speakers for live music sound. JBL Eons, Electro Voice, black widow peavys, Mackie's or Beringer. Which ones would sound the best for clear, natural, studio quality sounding vocals, as well as clear bass and mids for all kinds of music. Any recomendations from anyone??

  • @Aldenif Electro Voice ZX5.. got the cleanest dynamic sound comming out from it. (The ZX series from EV, are very good!)

  • wooot beta 3 is the best...check it B3 active speakers...

  • the 2 pin pug is a problem in Aus its 3 and i have no problem but i have a filtered power supply through a 2m x 2m concrete box lol

  • really noisey horns electrical buzz from the v2's i live in UK and they come with 2 pin plug !!!! usless so im not sure if they power rated properly for the uk

    im VERY DISSAPOINTED.

  • the 2 pin is 2 stop the noise and if u have a laptop pluged in that makes it noisey 2

  • Powered?

  • Yes, 400W each. The 350 V2 has 195W

  • are these speakers amplified? answer plz

  • to prevent them from getting 2 hot you install small fans on the amp on both speakers! It really works

  • 150, 350 & 450 v2, and an 802 mixer. All fit into my compact car with my wife and three kids. Can't complain. I've been planning a video. Even talked to the Makoids at mackie about it.

  • I was thinking of getting them but if im at a gig and its going to keep shutting down on me im not going to waste money for something that dosnt work. i use bose speakers but i might get JBL eons.

  • Do you like the EON 515? Opinion?

  • just picked up a pair of blue mackie 450's and got to say i love them i use then saturday night wishing i could use them every night ....any way they rock thanks mackie

    dj shane

  • I have a set of the grey ones---and they'll NICE speakers but they'll very touchy as well, you can't gig them if it's too hot, or they'll shut off.

  • I'd like to actually hear somebody use it

  • wow i can only imagine, i got one of the old mackie loudspeakers for 600 , just one , and its so loud, for just one of my studio/house speakers

  • it's mackie, I'm no longer willing to risk buying a product without any kind of service department. Every mackie owners knows the frustration of trying to get something repaired, also at least 1/2 my mackie stuff fails whilst the rest of my gear rolls on trouble free for years and years (not including blown speakers, the occasional vrossover etc)

  • @andocrates I just had my EON 515 repaired for the 2nd time. When they work, they sound good, but you start feeling like you better have some back up speakers. EONs are made in China. Almost everything is. Still not sure where the PRX line of JBL is made.

  • @reminaya You really do need redundancy on the road but I can barely afford-gear as it is and have no extra room

  • Sounds all good but I went to Sam Ash where they had just pulled a v2 out the box for me to demo. I heard a 'pffft' and the power kept dying every 3 sec. Then the sales guy tried it and the bass no longer played. The unit was dead "straight out the box!" It looks cheaper on the backend in comparison to the older 450's (even the buttons are flimsy). Cutting corners to increase profit margin. Good job Mackie...
