Yes cool idea but a litle dangerous, melted wax falling on the hand hurts. And on the keyboard must cause problems also the danger of fire. The concept is sound and i just would use a small electric light source them a candle.
i love the idea of this game..absolutely cunning. the only problem i have is the text...it's hard to read at times...especially when it's happening on the top and the bottom at the same time..lol. maybe it's better when you play it. i also LOVE the music. and i would love to help you beta it.
However, with EEE's camera it works well only under linux, since windows drivers are slow :( I had to get a cheap-o-webcam myself to continue windows development.

Is it possible to use flashlight instead? I believe that the webcam only detect light source and hence it can be anything and doesn't have to be candles, no?

I have wax like all over my PC (screen, keyboard, floor, everything else, etc) And it didn't damage anything, but it's a pain to get rid of.

Works well even in lit rooms and during the day, as long as there's no backlight (redundand light source capped by the cam).

I think yes, but it might be much less accurate, haven't tried this though.
Anyways, candles are available everywhere and cheap, and using a flashlight would spoil the fun. Also, there is an option to use mouse.
