Mercs is a bad game , i loved Vengs , but NetMechIV is a good patch for mercs , more realistic and Mechs have the original names , at last for clanners it's better , when you like pure tech , but let's wait for better mechwarrior games

Well back in the days of MW2 the Vulture was alot differant then it is now, that "little cannon" on the top is actually the camera, however the rifleman hasnt changed (well it has but not as much)

If u look through the index of all MW games u will notice HUGE differances, like the Daishi (my favorite mech) and the Puma (my second favorite), MadDog is my third (not the madcat)

my favorate is a tie of Templer and black knight flowed by a tie of Bushwacker and Uziel then Puma of course they were all my own weapon setup hee hee. I dont like Assult Mechs much to slow but they are powerful oh well.

ye i always used to use my own weapon setups, but its apitty becuase in MW2 u cud do ANYTHING with ur mech, down to placing heatsinks in the right parts of the mech, now its just weapon layouts and gunnery boats :(

Its not vengence, its Mercenaires, there is a big differance in mech limit

I played the demo of this and was very dissapointed the gameplay is more archade and less realistic as 2 and 3 were. I dont like how if you over rotate the torso it bangs against itself, thats really lame to me.

You could put lasers in the torso. But it was still useless because it also had major heat problems. Maybe if you loaded it up with missiles like it's intended you'll get SOME use out of it...but it's still pretty useless.

that was a warlord right. The retarted cousin of the atlas. I never really saw point on putting jumpjets on an assault mech. the madcat II looks cool with them i suppose but then it was like every new assault had them. Still like the vulture II. Gload they made a hollander II in the packs

Haha...i remember playing in the Egypt map with the Atlas using Heavy Lasers and Arties. You should try also using a Daishi with 3 LBX20's and Heavy lasers.....that knocks down other mechs in 1 shot...then you finish them off. Fun times.

There is new hope actually, the original creater of battletech recently re-aquired the liscensing for mechwarrior, as well as a few other games the sellout had pawned off originaly. Which means odds are we will see something new in the near future, however it could be a total pile of crap sence Jordan Weisman has a reputation of 'peeing on loyal fans' as a hobby.

Do not feel too bad. I had my prize Dire Wolf (Daishi) variant torn apart by a Mad Dog (Vulture) with an armament centered around LRMs. My main battery was two LBX AC-20s. He had a *bit* of a range advantage. :D

Want some easy suggestions? Link all of your weapons to fire at once. While this makes you more likely to overheat, it does alot more damage for each hit. Keep it in third person so you see more of whats going on around you. Turn the torso while you move to get more shots in.

i didnt know 1st person view was considered "skill" but i certainly believe 3rd person is superior, solely for the fact that in 1st person, if u move the corsair (torso) and turn the mech to the left or right, the aim gets all messed up. 2:05 shows clearly.

has nobody else problems with this? or do people just wait to turn after they've connected some hits? either way i think 1st is very limiting, perhaps thats why some think its more skillful

No he wasn't using a bushwacker, that was a Vulture 2, a mech created by the Mektek modification team. It is a heavier version of the Vulture, with a various assortment of slots. It weighs 75 tons and is my favorite mech.

mate - back in the days of Mp 2.1a (the precursor to the Mechpak shown here), I took a CLBX 20 Uller and won a server against a load of assault whores. Anyone can win in a Daishi or (less so since it got nerfed) a Gargoyle, Few can cut it in a light. And the Raven is the best of them all. 3 Strk4's and a Heavy medium Laser, add a little know how and you've got the best pest mech there, by a long way. You can do a lot of damage with one.

I think it could be, this one I got from my uncle though, I never liked the game enough to buy it, but my uncle had it and never played it, so gave it to me. However, now you can get like, all three of the MW4 games in a single box for like $10 i think

from what I know, since i play Empire league, zonematch, zone msn (before it closed), and half a dozen other mMW4 variants, there isn't necessarily 80 mechs in the game.. more like 40(ish). I play ZM alot so keep an eye out for DoW_xPryde.

the mek paks from MekTek, basically they make non official patches for the game, which includes a ton of a mechs. I have about 80 mechs to choose from with all the mech packs :P
