Metallica sounds boring on their early records, the songs are good, but they're recorded with no power at all and bad production, Justice was the first record that ain't boring to listen. Metallica excels in their live performances. Megadeth is more a studio band because of Mustaine's voice live. Killing Is My Business wins this one for me.

Dave is awesome and so is james, in their own way, but Metallica pales in comparison because of Kirk, his lead guitar work is nothing compared to the virtuosity of Megadeth's various lead guitarists. I think Kirk needs to be informed by Marty Friedman, Chris Poland, Al Pitrelli, and Jeff Young that there are other scales to solo with than the minor pentatonic.

Cryptic Writings isn't really my taste, I don't think Mustaine can sing those kind of songs. Youthanasia still kills Load and Reload though, and can't choose between CtE or Black. Still, Death Magnetic over Endgame, and Th1rt3en over Death Magnetic.
